Drove by today. On my first pass I thought it said "Great Faith Estates" and assumed it was a polygamist compound. Then I saw "Green Earth Estates" and now it is just a mystery. Love the giant wall. We need a teenager to jump the wall at night and see what is going on there. Camera phone! Drew

Didn't say they had an easy job. It's way harder than most jobs. However, as the taxpayer and the parent, I am their customer. I want to know the best way to get their attention when issues like molestation are shown on local news.

What is the best way for parents to hold FCPS' feet to the fire? For example, the recent child molestation (school bus) incident at CES seems to have died out without a real response from FCPS. That is inexcusable, they should have written a public response with their plan to make sure this doesn't happen again. I want to know how to really get their attention. Write a letter to the school

There are two parts of Londown Towne. There are the semi-nice townhouses close to 29, then there is this 1960's-era crazy architecture trailer-park-looking place closer to Giant. I've always wondered about the 60's part. Looks really run down. Drew

I have had FIOS for about 6 years. My Triple play bundle is coming up for renewal in January, and I heard that they changed the TV channel tiers again to force everyone up into a higher price bracket. I want my cost to go down, not up. However, my family is not ready to go streaming-only for TV content. Is Cox a good alternative? Thanks, Drew

The antenna in the middle of the house (hard to see in pic) is some crazy quad antenna thing. I bet they get some great OTA HD. Drew

Has anyone seen the "antenna house" on Route 28 just before hitting Old Town? The group of houses that it is a part of look like they've been time-warped from the 50's or 60's. The antennae are huge. Next time I drive by I will snap a pic. Could be HAM radio, or they could be calling Mars. Drew

A lot of people do "Little Gym" "My Gym" "Pump it up" etc. Those are all good, but even more $$$ than Chucky Cheese. Chucky Cheese is ok, just don't use the Manassas one.

Ohio, Penn State, etc. If you actually *have* kids, you will understand the horror of the situation in Ohio and how screwed up the Penn State thing was. Fuck that, not letting my kids go unsupervised.

Thanks to both of you for clarifying, I tried to find these answers through the state and county, but it wasn't clear. So, if permits are required, does someone check that at least the GC has a license? (or in other words, is a license required in order to apply for permits?) Just trying to understand the process so we don't get screwed... Thanks, Drew

Hey All, My wife and I met with a kitchen & bath remodeling company for a remodel of our master bath. The remodeling company holds a Class A contractors license. The company brought 3 trades people through our house to review the project: one plumber, one electrician, and one carpenter/tile guy. After the trades visit, I asked the Remodeling company to supply license and insurance informa
