Then and now. This is a picture of the old Falls Church Bank. It was on the South West corner of Broad St. (Rt. 7) where it intersected with Washington St. (Rt. 29). It's directly across the street from Brown's Hardware, which has been there for over 100 years. (They're my go-to hardware store.) I guess most people don't know that we do have an old fault line running through the area. It actually happens to run straight down Interstate 66 between the Beltway and Rt. 7, before it turns north toward McLean and into Maryland. It's called the Plummer's Island Thrust Fault. Sorry the pictures don't really line up, but I'm sure you can figure it out.
