That drive-thru footage is sickening; and cops wonder why some people have issues with the boys in blue. The whole situation could've been dealt with rationally and reasonably, but HE decided to take it to the next level. She was just doing her job, and got a face full of mace. Was this a local incident?

Well, yeah, but I was concentrating more on the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and whether it was justified. It seems like one of those iffy situations.

On April 27, 2005, Del Ray resident Lew Barber was shot and killed by Alexandria Police. There's much controversy over his death, and whether it was justified or not. Read more about this at this website setup by one of his neighbors and friends: http://justiceforlew.org/index.html

Very rarely do I ever go over 10 mph over the limit, anywhere. I despise getting tickets, plus I figure it's better to be safe. However, there's some spots in this area that drive me crazy. That section of Rt. 7 right past Seven Corners always kills me. 25 mph through there, and it should really be 35. Raising the speed limits on the highways isn't a good idea, IMO. In North Carolina, all o

I was reading a couple of days ago that the prices for cigarettes in Fairfax County was going up 20 cents. Any other pissed off smokers? I prefer to buy mine in Prince William County anyway...they're always a little cheaper.

I always go to Szechuan Delight for Chinese food, up there at Landmark Plaza. They have the best in the area, IMO.

I think I recall hearing something about exploding manholes. Another one is from before I was born. In 1973, while building Skyline Towers (in Bailey's Crossroads), a part of the building collapsed, killing 14 workers. Here's a picture of the damaged Towers: http://www.co.fairfax.va.us/ps/fr/images/Skylinep.jpg

My fault, I thought it was waste. I had a relative that lived in Mantua at the time, but I don't think she was affected. She was down at the other end, away from the Texaco. But still, I recall alot of talk about the property values and environmental mess.

Interesting how many (and which) vehicles they have. I'm trying to think of all the ones I've seen. Malibu, Lumina, Caprice, Impala, Durango, and Intrepid. Of course, there's the Crown Vics. I've seen a bunch of Tahoes and other SUVs on Rt. 66, along with the Camaro. It blew my mind when I saw the Camaro for the first time, it'd be wild to see the Dodge Viper. If I'm not mistaken, I think I

I found this messageboard not too long ago, and it's a pretty good rundown of the restaurants in Prince William County. I talked to the guy that runs the site, and he was wanting some reviews from the Fairfax County area. If you're interested, hit it up: http://www.nodirtydishes.com/forum/index.php

What's a funny or weird story you remember about this area? Remember, a few years ago (like '99-ish), when that dude on the Memorial Bridge (I think it was that bridge) held up traffic for like 8 hours, threatening to leap to his death to the water below? I was working a long shift at my old job that day, so luckily I wasn't in that mess. But many people I know were, and they said it was pre

I've never done it with the CIA building, but I've accidently turned into military bases several times. Sometimes you get cool dudes, that'll just wave you through for a u-turn, and other times you get the jerks that try to intimidate you (or whatever it is they do), and make a scene over nothing.

Anyone else play? I always play ball at Parklawn School on Lincolnia & Braddock, just because that's where I played as a kid. I used to go up to Mason District...a couple of years back, they had some great games going on. I'm still getting back into it, but I think I may head up there to play again. Do they still play ball on those courts? Another one of my favorite courts to play at i

I think the renaming of different portions of streets is asinine. I wonder how much extra money the county spends on all these different street signs, instead of having them all the same name?
