Turns out that I misread initial report and the fire and crash were actually on the outer loop side of the Beltway on the bridge. At any rate the bridge was closed in both directions for hours. If Google maps has it right the inner loop side of the bridge is now open, but the outer loop side is still "Closed until Jun 21." I'm not sure that means that it will definitely open sometime on June 21

The crash happened at least 3 hours ago. I think the crash, which involved a large truck, was on the inner loop. Traffic in both directions is still a nightmare. At some time Virginia police were diverting outer loop traffic off the Beltway. A man on the Cedar Lane overpass of I-66 fell (jumped or was pushed?) & landed on an east-bound vehicle on I-66.
