Alliance for Herndon's Future LLC - an "interesting" group

A group, made up of deposed Mayor O’Reilly and Council members, organized a group called the Alliance for Herndon’s Future LLC. The mission is to make Herndon a better place to live. To accomplish this the Alliance proposed a 3 cent increase in Real Estate Tax and allocate a portion of the Meals Tax to be used for a tax funded Restaurant Advertising Campaign.

During the recent Budget Public Hearings, Nancy Meyers, who claimed to be the Vice President, was asked a few questions about the group’s Position Paper and seemed “at a loss for words.” The only thing she was sure of was that the Alliance felt the Real Estate tax should have been more than the Council approved – didn’t have a clue about any other budget or mission issues. A most interesting group.
