Generals, like all other C&C, are not so good. There is no strategic element. The computer enemy is too easily defeated. The gameplay is too fast, due to the collection of only one resource and a high level of destruction of weapons.

Anyway, I heard that this game is coming out soon, I don't remember exactly what it was called, maybe it was "Roman Wars". These are your typical strategy games, but they are fully 3D and you can control thousands of armies. The more armies, the more fun it is.

I seem to have heard of this Roman wars game you mentioned, or at least a very similar game, I like games like this when I find the one that suits me best.
Now I'm going to play Timesplitters 2, I can't wait to try Timesplitters: Future Perfect. I would like to play it on my PS2, but I destroyed the controller and now I'm forced to play on my Gamecube
