On February 16, 1991, 44-year-old waitress Joann P. Webster was stabbed to death in her apartment at 8601 Sacramento Drive in the Sacremento Square Apartments in Alexandria.
No one was ever charged with her murder, but her husband, former Fairfax County Police office Bruce Webster, had been served with divorce papers the previous day, and had been charged with abducting her twice, on May 18, 1990 and January 1, 1991. Webster absconded from the charge and it was not until May 21, 2007, that the 68-year-old Webster was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Convicted of the abductions in 2010 and sentenced to 19 years in prison, Bruce Webster is due to be released from prison in October of 2018. He will be 78 years old.
