A completely empty gesture from a legislature with too much time on their hands...

The Supreme Court ruled against unilateral seccession back in 1869, see Texas v. White, 1869.

There are groups in the Vermont and NH state govt. that threaten the same nonsense every few years

It's hilarious that a couple redneck idiots in Montana think they could actually survive as their own country.

The Roberts, Alito, Scalia and Thomas Supreme Court isn't going to do shit to harm the Second Amendment. They will say the DC law is unconstitutional based on some stupid technicality so no new precedent can be taken from it. That is pretty much how this court has worked on this kind of thing.

I'm not a Supreme Court Justice. You'll have to read their decision when it comes down.

The worse thing that could happen IF the Supreme Court decides on behalf of the District is to decide that to bare arms is not guaranteed to individuals but rather to each individual state. It would then be the responsibility of each state to decide how/if to limit individual gun baring rights.

I have predicted that this conservatie Supreme Court will decide the state not the individual has the "right". I base this on the alternative which could literally destroy any limitations on guns. I do not think the Supreme Court is prepared to do that either.

As far as your comment on isnt that what that the American Revoultion was all about....well..it was one thing they fought for. But as a matter of fact anyone who plans on starting a new violent revolution would be accused of high treason. US citizens do not have a right to violently overthrow the Government.

The Supreme Court does not overrule the people. And if WE the People of Montana decide to secede WE the People will.

If it happens, I'll be moving to Montana in support of their secession. The right to bear arms is an individual right. Even if it's argued that only the militia has the right to bear arms, the Constitution states that the militia is composed of all abled bodies. So technically, aren't we all part of the militia already?

The show is essentially finished. Production costs were really high and they decided to not make a fourth season. They were supposed to come back with two 2-hour episodes to wrap things up, but HBO didn't renew the actors' contracts for financial reasons. Things were left in limbo, but at this point it looks like they'll never happen.

Which is a bummer because the show was excellent.

Let me tell you from personal experience, the Indians really aren't that hostile. Ever since I left Independence, Missouri they have actually been pretty helpful, especially by getting me across the damn river. Never should have tried to ford the river myself -- I lost my wife Slut and my son Crapbag in a tragic accident when our wagon crashed into the rocks. Though I guess it was just a matter of time until the dysentery claimed Crapbag.

Vince - The militia is all able-bodied males from 17 to 45 years-old.

Constitution Section 311. Militia: composition and classes

(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied
males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section
313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a
declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States
and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the
National Guard.
(b) The classes of the militia are -
(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard
and the Naval Militia; and
(2) the UNORGANIZED militia, which consists of the members of
the militia who are NOT members of the National Guard or the
Naval Militia.

Remember the Lakota Nation seceeded about a year ago or so. Part of Montana is Lakota Country (so is North and South Dakota). Would this start a three way war between the USA, Montana, and the Lakota?
