Bill Clinton Picks Obama's Plan Over Romney
Posted by: Conservative Voice ()

Our best president in the last thirty years, who never started a war and recovered this nation from republican economic tax plundering and greed says he supports Obama.

Don't be fooled by big defense companies who want runaway defense spending. Stop American killings of people abroad and plundering of foreign countries. It's not right and it makes Americans look weak.

Clinton made significant contributions to the mess of the last twenty years.

1. repeal of Glass-Steagall Act which kept investment banking and consumer banking separate
2. deregulation of derivatives
3. rigging interest rate markets by arranging with the Bank of Japan to buy our treasury debt via the currency intervention regime of 1995
4. internet stock bubble and telecom credit bubbles which were fueled by the same regulatory malfeasance that accompanied the housing bubble of the Bush years

So a Democrat picked a Democrat's economic plan during an election year, is that the point of this thread?

If I'm reading this right you're suggesting it takes 20-ish years to realize the results of government financial decision-making?

Clinton was only kept in line by a Republican controlled Congress. He was dragged kicking and screaming into the welfare to work program. That was a Republican idea not his. But like the current clown in the White House he takes credit for anything good that someone else does.

the downturn was masked by the subsequent bubble, usually in a different area, real estate for instance.

the reason why this recovery is so weak is the Fed is trying to reflate the same bubbles in the stock market and housing.

there are a lot of similarities between the telecom debt securities bust and the mortgage securities bust. both were subprime debt packaged by US investment banks as investment-grade and sold to European investors.

Most people here aren't old enough to remember what actually happened back during Clinton's term. They're working from the basis of the legend promoted by political party. They don't recall how everything came tumbling down or know that, for example, the markets hit about the same levels as they did during the more recent crash and that NASDAQ still is far below the levels that it was at the time. Nor do they have any memory of the recession which followed. Nor do they remember similar bubbles and market scandals prior to. Nor do they appreciate how ridiculous some of us knew that it was to assume that housing markets would continue to increase 20% per year forever despite how the government, industry "experts," and economists rationalized it as being perfectly reasonable.

Dont bother trying to speak facts to dbags that pretend to be conservatives who are really hardcore liberals thinking they will change votes. Its either weseal, 4 more years, or lloydster none of which are smart enough to realize a lot of the economic success of the 90s was from the .com boom and that the 90s were the best time to be a US president in quite a while. That said Id take clinton over what we have now

As for CLinton agreeing w/Obama....yeah, you really don't think they asked him to? You really think he'd say no? Isn't his wife Secratary of State?

Exactly. Some of his comments in the past do indicate he actually does agree with Romney, but as long as his wife is politically active he will toe the party line in case she decides to run for president
