Why is Fairfax void of Hipsters?
Posted by: RichmondYouth ()

I mean it seems void of them. I guess its not a very hipsterish environment like Richmond. The only "hipsters" are the pseudo ones who work at Jammin Java. They are as genuine hipster as someone who drives an SUV whilst groovin' to Dave Matthew's latest compact disc.

On the whole GMU campus there aren't any hipsters to be found. Mostly its keg party revelers with sweat pants and college T's, and trendy young girls who flash themselves at the drop of the hat (not that thats a bad thing)

Oh where do the Hipsters go in Fairfax?

Because hipsters don't live in the suburbs (of any city, for that matter). They live in DC (Columbia Heights, Mount Pleasant, U Street), parts of Arlington, Takoma Park, and downtown Silver Spring.

Living in your dad's spare bedroom on an allowance of $30 a week makes you a hipster?

Why don't you go up to some cute church girl and say, "I'm 30. I live with my daddy. He gives me $30 a week. Oh, and I sing to empty lobbies at the Best Western. You wanna go on a date?"

See how that works for you.

No, Meade is right.

Fairfax is void of hipsters. I'm not sure what exactly to attribute it to, but they're just not around. Sure, you might find some high school faggot huddled in the corner with his American Apparel tight-tee, listening to Animal Collective on his walkman -- but I can honestly say I see maybe one, true, honest to god hipster a month.

Now, go up to Boston, NY NY, or most other cities in the US, and you will inevitably run into more hipsters than you can handle.

For you old folks, here is a youtube video that might help you get a better understanding of what exactly a "hipster" is...

it is work safe

Any city has hipsters. I guess it was a moot point since Fairfax is not a large city, but considered "the burbs". Richmond has hipsters galore- so does Nashville, Atlanta, or Birmingham

Boston has little in the way of hipsters. Mostly stuffy Ivy league wannabees who belong to yacht clubs and wear docksiders and dockers with button down shirts and v neck sweaters.

Nothing ironic about that.

Hipsters are just another Clique. Its elitism and snobby immaturity. Who Cares if you have the Green Vinyl iggy pop sings Bob Dylan Demo tape Bootleg first edition? NOBODY. To paraphrase Dr Evil, "there's nothing sadder than an aging Hipster"

Right and hipsterism is a phase of YOUTH you are supposed to grow out of. You should want to Mature and NOT be stuck as a perpetual CHILD, teenager, young Adult. Its the draw between innocence and experience to get all William Blakian.

Human beings reach their peak, in terms of physical wellness, at the age of 13.

From there, it is slow and painful descent towards death.
