It looks dumb, but man is it hard! Try speed walking at the fastest pace you can without breaking stride for a couple miles. If you don't hurt yourself, you will be sore as hell at the end of it.
We're the only animals that are capable of this form of locomotion for an extended period of time.

Thats a terrible argument. If you try almost anything that you have never done before, chances are its going to be "hard" the first time or two.
If someone practices long enough at anything they are interested in competeing in they'll eventually become proficient at it.

Without knowing the first thing about this sport, my initial thought is that these photos range from humorous, to bizarre to downright creepy. Additionally, I didn't find these girls that attractive either, but I wasn't sure if it was because of all the weird make up, nose plugs, funny faces or what.
So I took one of the pictures above of 2 women that I thought looked good, found out who they were and found pictures of them looking more normal and in more normal environments. I also changed the date "custom range" parameters of my search to find some pre 2012 Olympic photos of them. As it turns out the picture I picked was of Spain's Silver Medal winning duo, Ona Carbonell and Andrea Funtes with pictures below.
The top picture I posted is the one of eesh's I picked. All the rest are ones I found of that same duo but looking more 'normal'.
I gotta say that I like them better out of the water.

Drag make-up or not, I'm impressed...I can do the splitz, but not in the air over water upsidedown on shoulders....wow, and she has a great ass 2 for 1! lol
