I need to see a cite for the OP's contention. I saw the news story on that guy and it sounded like he was there with the woman and kids throughout. I don't recall any black kid throwing himself as a shield in that situation, either.

Colorado is a mixing pot of failure. Well Denver at least. Most are rejects from California and other Mountain West States. In the 90's Denver was hot to trot, everyone wanted to move there. They got hit hard in the dot com bubble. Now they are treading water. So you have a couple of types. Middle class who are doing well have families and go to mega churches. Working Class, escaped whatever meth filled hell hole out west and found some employment and are treading water in life. Then you have the young outdoor types. They mostly live downtown, love the Mtns, love themselves and everything about CO. They stick around long enough then move to Portland or Seattle.

Exactly. Why go on TV, crying like a baby, in order to justify leaving your family there? I am no hero by any means, but I wouldn't leave my wife to fend for herself. I think he asked her to marry him, in order to gloss over what a coward he really was. As soon as she has some time to think, she'll have to kick this guy to the curb. Otherwise, it'll be a lifetime of her checking downstiars late at night when they hear a noise in the house, her having to defend his honor out in public, and her having to kill spider-crickets in the summer time!
