Awful situation, what really got me was that kids were hit by rubber bullets... What is this? Soviet Russia?

On the other hand, they did say the crowd was setting shit on fire.

Sounds like bad moves from the start. From what I've read so far, this started when officers shot an unarmed man once in the butt and once in the head in broad daylight, in front of witnesses while he was running away from the cops.

People got upset and the cops lost control of the situation.

Apparently there is a lot more video that was shot on people's cell phones. Cops were offering money to buy people's phones from them (presumably to get rid of the video evidence).

Now there's a whole neighborhood of people who normally have nothing else to do with their lives who will have nothing else to do but protest for the rest of the summer.

I noticed that also, the part about being shot while running away.

Let's just call a spade a spade... the cops shot the poor hombre in the back.

Its one thing if you shoot a guy in the back, but something else if you do it on a sunny afternoon with a lot of witnesses. This might go on for a while.

Well the cops are doing a thorough investigation on the cops. So I'm sure if the cops did anything illegal the cops will take care of it.

Now that this has made the national news and there's video of the cops shooting women and children with rubber bullets, that horse has left the barn. The politicians are now involved.

Cops dressed in helmets and bulletproof vests shooting into crowd = not news

Non-cop dressed in helmet and bulletproof vest shooting into crowd = national news and outrage

Difference between news and not news appears to be a badge = free pass to shoot into crowds as far as the country and news media are concerned.

That is a horrific video. But I noticed the original guy that got shot and over which this protest arose was named "Stomper". You know that can't be good. And that crowd of protestors looked kinda shady. Gang community? Wouldn't be surprised if there's more behind this than we know.

Um... No.

The difference is not just a badge. The shooter in Colorado KILLED 12 people for fun. The cops here lost control of a crowd and overreacted. They were doing their job, but used a chainsaw when they should have used nail clippers. At least the cops used rubber bullets when they shot into a crowd of women and children.

The cops also fucked up by doing this in front of a neighborhood of people who have a lot of time on their hands. Now they have a full time job this summer protesting in front of local news cameras.
