Would you send your son to Penn State?
Posted by: Hockey Parent ()

My son is a hockey prospect who is being recruited by several schools including Penn State. Given all of the other available opportunities, it seems pointless to even consider PSU.

It's not that I think the school is full of kid touchers and my son would be at risk. It's really about the fact that since this story broke, it seems there was a great deal of institutional tolerance of Sandusky's crimes. If they tried to sweep this under the rug, what else might they do?

Probably cover up other atrocities, like the holocaust. You are right to be afraid.

Of course you could just leave it up to the kid if there are choices to be made, but I agree that any school like Penn State who probably covered up the Pol Pot atrocities is bad. There are probably Penn State professors working with the Syrian government now and the school is covering it up.

If your son is college age, he is an adult. If he wants to have gay sex, then he can find it at any college or university.

If hockey is his passion he should go to a school that is more competitive in the sport.

Aid course I am assuming this is a troll post so you can talk about touching little boys, but if you are really concerned about this, perhaps you should not be giving advice to your son.

I'm pretty sure the pedophiles, if there are any left, are keeping a low profile at the moment given the publicity. Your son with gay tendencies would have to actively seek out a sugar daddy if he wanted one.

Hockey was only a club sport at PSU for decades and only became a varsity team sport recently. They're building a brand new ice arena for it, like 6,000 capacity. If your kid wants to be part of a new program, with brand new facilities, at a school where sports is a big deal, it's probably a great place.

Penn State is nowhere near a major city. It should be very safe.

He should be big enough to protect himself. What is he playing hockey for if he isn't? It's more possible that he's worried his son is gay. If he's gay, it's better that he decide to live openly so he can get on with the rest of his life.

It's not like they assrape adult male students there. Well, they may, but it hasn't been reported.

Your son should be old enough to slug anyone who tries to have sex with him that he does not want to have sex with...he is NOT 10 y.o.

A Penn State education STILL speaks volumes...my nephew just graduated from there...got a job offer before he graduated...as did everyone in his major.

As for pedobears, think about it this way: the safest space shuttle flight ever was the one right after the Challenger blew up.

At this point Penn State is probably the last place any pedobear wants to be found.

A benefit unique to Penn State is its reputation with employers, Rayman said. Career Services had an impact on the No. 1 ranking Penn State received in the Wall Street Journal, Rayman said.

Penn State came out on top of 100 colleges surveyed by 479 professional recruiters.

Penn State also ranked No. 5 in accounting, No. 6 in finance, No. 7 in computer science and No. 9 in engineering, according to the Wall Street Journal.
