Q. I filed my return on time, but I haven’t received my stimulus payment, even though the payment date listed for my Social Security number has passed. Why?

A. In general, the payment schedule only applies if your return was received and the IRS finished processing your return before April 15. If you filed your return on time, but close to the April 15 deadline, the IRS may not have finished processing it before April 15.

Processing times for tax returns and stimulus payments vary. If you are getting a regular income-tax refund, the IRS will send you that refund first. Normally, your stimulus payment will follow one to two weeks later.

If you are not expecting a regular tax refund, your stimulus payment should arrive a minimum of six weeks after you file.

Check your account today if you fall in the range. Just peaked at mine, and a nice $1XXX is posted as being received today.

Um, you don't get one if you haven't filed a return this year. That could be your problem.

Got mine a week ago.

Had to pay Fed but getting refund from VA (a little more then Fed bill). Filed them both by mail. Fed cashed the check w/in 10days. Still waiting for VA (direct deposit).

My ss last are 00 and I havent received anything yet. I had it set up for direct deposit with H&R Block. I have already received both my state and federal refund but no stimulus check yet.....:( don't know why

I read that H&R Block sets up a temporary account to route your return if you have the fees taken out of the return. When the IRS tries to direct deposit the money, the account will be closed. They will then have to send a paper check.

@noshit: It pays to do your VA tax return online as early as possible. I submitted mine at the end of January, and got my refund four--yes four--days later. Sweet!

They're indeed a week ahead on the stimulus checks. My SSN is 9x, and my bank informs me the deposit is ready to post the 12th.

I don't know how but I ended up owning the state 55 bucks this year, greedy fuckers weren't content with the money they took out of every paycheck, and I am single with 1 deduction. Luckily the fed refunded me.

I am not getting a paper check, I was supposed to have it deposited.

ehh, got mine in the mail today. I dont know why they sent me a check when I had a direct deposit set up but it works. $300, not bad considering I am single and don't have any kids that I know of.

Actually that was only half good. The good half was owing VA, the bad half was getting a refund from the Fed.

If you get a refund, that means too much in taxes is being withheld from your paycheck, which in turn you are loaning the Gov't, at a 0% interest rate, and the Gov't then returns you.

It's financially better to keep that money, earn a little(and I mean a little) Interest on it throughout the year and then send a check to the IRS.

To get you proper withholding info go to irs.gov and look for a publication titled
"Employers guide to withholding" or something similar to that.

Fill out a new W-4 with your employer, and Viola, you just gave yourself a raise!

Just be careful of having too little taken out, there are penalties for excessive withholding.

See you accountant or tax advisor for more info.

If filing or preparation fees were deducted from your 2007 Refund or you received a rapid refund, you will be receiving a check instead of a direct deposit. Please see the Paper Check section of the Payment Schedule.

I did, the last two of my social are 00 and I got mine on 5/9. It was mailed on the 7 and I believe the check came from PA.

My girlfriend mailed her taxes and haven't received her federal, state or a stimulus check yet. Her social last two are 18 so it should fall under the same category as mine(00). We live together and have been registered under this address for the last two years. The only difference is I have had my refunds deposited into my bank account (except the stimulus check which was paper for some odd reason) and she is supposed to get all her refunds via paper check Both of us filed our taxes within a week from due date, I have received all of my refunds already and she is yet to get anything, dont know why

No, but I got a note in the mail saying I should expect it around Friday.

If you use the Web site everyone has been posting links to, it will tell you when to expect you check. The site told me May 16, the letter told me May 16. So therefore I'll see it on the 16th or early next week.
