when I was a boy, I would always hear the turn of phrase, "making ends meet"...as in, "it's hard out there, just trying to make ends meet". We've established that. Ends meeting, scraping by, just staying alive.

well, when I was a boy, whenever I heard that expression, I always thought that 'ends meet' was "endsmeat"....like they were talking about some kind of meat. That I've never heard of. Or eaten. I always would wonder what exactly is this "endsmeat" people are always talking about making? And how do you 'make' meat anyhow?
