what do you think are the worst towns and/or cities in Virginia?
These top the list for me:
Danville (pronounced "Day-un-vull") Such a horrible place! Emo kids mixed with real backwoods peckerwoods. Smells like tobacco all over the place. Very ghetto, and filled with racial tension. I know so many people from that place that cant wait to get out. Worst part, is you're in the middle of nowhere. Only good thing, is you're on the NC border, so you can escape to some place like Raleigh or Chapel Hill or Durham if you want to.
Manassas: Much like Danville in the since of rednecks and frustrated teen punks. Lots of immigrants from the South (if you know what I mean), Spainglish will probably be spoken there before long. I mean, sersiouly, they have Spanish signs at the grocery store. Nothing to do there. Old town is a joke.
Roanoke: Friendly people, but its just so boring.
Centreville: Lots and lots of Orientals and uppity rich redneck kids. Very very provincial.

Petersburg and Hopewell make Manassas look like Great Falls.

No, actually Northern Virginia is just new moneyed rednecks and yankee scalawegs. Richmond is old money and Charlottesville and places like that- aristocratic old FFV towns turn their noses up at "NOVA". Nova is really very provincial, whats worse is they are stuck up and think they are cosmopolitan when they aren't. At least people from the rest of the state acknowledge their provinciality.

I've been all over this state either for work or for personal reasons. The connetation of "worst" can mean many things. If you're looking for pure ghetto, "I don't feel safe here", you can't miss with Petersburg. If you're looking for sterilized suburban area void of any culture, go with Centreville. If you want some dead industrial town, Waynesboro is a #1 draft pick.

Fairfax county Virginia:
A detestable suburban backwater of America's lame, bland and culturally vacant capital. Filled with characterless subdivisions populated with characterless people and the poor immigrants that serve them, this place is so utterly conventional and uninteresting that it actually makes Westchester, Long Island, and Northern New Jersey look like they aren't cultural wastelands. Fairfax doesn't suck simply because it lacks museums and "culture"--this is to be expected of any suburb. It sucks because the city it borders sucks. That city sucks because it is the center of government, and to be successful in government, one must be as uncontroversial (hence, boring, conventional) as possible. Clarke County VA is my number 1! Sits right on the border of West VA where the local police welcome you to both the state of VA and their county by strategically sitting right next to the speed limit sign which goes from 45 to 25. Basically the town is such a shit hole and so poor their only source of income comes from busting people coming back from Charles Town.

I grew up part of my life in Newport News. Downtown NN is so filled with shit, it was actually shown on an episode of Cops. There are a few nice areas in NN, but most is generally filled with cheap strip shopping.
Petersburg: NOG heaven. That place is worthless.
Manassas: You gotta keep your eyes open. Those spics will run out into traffic like they have nothing to live for.
Richmond: The little city that wasn't. If it weren't for MCV and Phillip Morris, Richmond would turn into Petersburg. Quite frankly, it's almost there anyway.
Then there's DC: Not technically in VA, but close enough where we get to hear how cool they think they are. That city is run by NOGS and so is WMATA. DC is a failure. They have high taxes, high crime, terrible roads, and a holier-than-though fucking attitude that makes me wanna puke.

If you want to visit a giant Potomac Mills, go to Williamsburg. I was there yesterday and the outlet malls just keep expanding. The out of state tourists that shop there are the worst people.

How stupid are you? Virginia Beach is one of the nicest, modernized cities in Virginia! Newport News isn't all bad either! Now, the downtown east end (nicknamed Bad Newz) is a place you want to avoid at midnight for sure. Norfolk and Hampton are MUCH worse than Virginia Beach and Newport News. Portsmouth (nicknamed P-Town when it was the murder and rape capital back in the day) has its rough areas. But overall, the Hampton Roads region of Virginia is pretty nice. For slummy ghetto cities in Virginia, your talking places like Emporia, Petersburg (thats mostly because Republicans have stripped it funding), Richmond (the schools are falling apart right before our eyes), and Suffolk. If you drive down East Washington St., you'd swear you were in the slums of Richmond or Petersburg! In Virginia's southside, some of the ghettos include Chase City and Martinsville (mostly due to the economic collapse caused by genius Republican ideas!).

Gotta agree with Arlington. Worst-run jurisdiction in the state. They barricade half of their side roads and make the other half a PITA to drive on with circles, speed bumps, half-closures, and DO NOT ENTER signs. Their County Council is the main reason why I-66 is a two-lane nightmare of gridlocked traffic in both directions, when it could have been a reasonably good highway with more lanes.

Well I invite you to go to the "NEW" pottery...no one there. And, try out the outlet mall. Other than the weekend and holidays, it's almost emty. Discounts and super sales forever! How about all those new home builds in those cheesie gated communities by none other than Ryan Homes, the worst, and HH Hunt, a tick above absolute crap. All for the old folks. And all two and three story builds. Please, what seventy five year old wants to run up and down stairs? They've built "New Town" and "Get High Street", failures. When all the old fucks finally go to nursing homes or nurvanna, who's going to buy all those 300K-400k shit boxes. Most of the jobs are low pay service types and young people are heading to the city because they can't afford the cost of dislocated burbs, among other real world quality of life issues.

Williamsburg is popular for a few reasons. The biggest reason is that it's not overrun by niggers and allows military officers to retire in a nice area that has several golf courses. It's also within reasonable driving distance to VA Beach. Not the VA Beach that tourists and nogs go to, but the VA Beach where wealthier locals hang (60-70th St).
You want a piece of shit city? Go to Hampton. There are so many niggers there, you'd think it was Petersburg.

As you well know by now, I consider williamsburg virginia one of the most phoney, white priveladge carbager areas in the state. Here's the newest shit twist their using to suck the northern hukster to this area of the earth....Free movies and popcorn in colonel williamsburg. What? All those wheel chairs clanking together and diapers for all. No wonder all the younger professional people leave to you know where. Well, except for the medical industry, which is staffed up by low end health care workers. It's like this.....Toano, Croaker, Norge, Williamsburg......Keep going East to the ocean. It's ALL A SHIT HOLE! Infected by the "DOT GOVERS". That's why I laugh at the fact the the poninsula is sinking and is more or less a swamp. But the dumb ass keep comming. Wow!! Another consideration one should really look at is the fact that there are and have been military bases since the revolutionary war to present. And you know what they have done in past with HAZ WASTE....that's right; dump it out in the back 40. There's so much contamination, I mean the water tables are so shallow and a lot of that shit never goes away. But hey, they still keep getting stupider.

Manassass, hands down. Christiansburg is pretty shitty as well. Stanley is just a shithole. Tazewell, Grundy, Norton, etc. are so remote and isolated that nobody cares.

Well, I've been around this country and lived in many places and yes there are good things and bad. But, I really got a dose when I lived on the peninsula. It was like the merging of rebid people from Long Island with the lazy government workers who actually think their competent. That mix is toxic to say the least. Eventually they destroy the natural beauity that attracted them to an area and replace it with the cheap rank environment from which they left. They simple do not know how to ballance or modify their behavior. In short; they are gluttons.
