Liberals I enounter seem to think they are smarter than everyone else, while ironically they are champions of the poor and the downtrodden. In between Mensa meetings I wonder if they have time to work at the soup kitchens.

While liberals are busy protesting something. Liberals believe they are superior in intelligence so they view other people as burdens on society.

It is when they start getting into politics that they get emotional and their bitchassedness surfaces.

I know some conservatives who are redneck dullards and horrible conversationalists, but are of much higher character than liberals I regularly socialize with.

Conservatives see the world in simpler terms and tend to come across as more accessible (and by extension, friendlier). But here some things to consider:

- While a Conservative is obsessed with what kind of condescending thoughts the liberal he just met is formulating about him, most likely the liberal is thinking is 'pretty nice guy, I wonder what's for dinner'. This is because conservatives are paranoid, nervous people. They like guns and long driveways. Agressive dogs. War memorabilia.

- Conservatives don't like to travel. Period. They're timid around other cultures, and "others" in general, which is why they tend to be bigoted and xenophobic. They're afraid of "illegals" and french food for the same reason.

- Conservatives are friendlier than liberals, but only if you're conservative. The moment he or she finds out you're a liberal, they do a funny thing. They say what's on their mind under their breath in a way that's uncomfortable to respond to. They'll point at something "normal", say... a white man and wife holding hands. Then they mumble "that's the way things ought to be". Quickly they'll change the subject to avoid expressing themselves in real detail (because details will expose their bigotry).

- Conservatives create most of the problems in the world. They're overly aggressive and vengeful. Since they have little regard for the welfare of people who are not like them, they tend to be much less hesitant to go to war on the one hand, and more comfortable sending someone who may be innocent to the electric chair.

- Conservatives are highly hypocritical. The Great Irony of our age is that if Liberals threw up their hands and gave conservatives complete control of the government, America would become a socialist nation in about three months. This is because conservative policy is so damaging, it would render our quality of life unbearable.

- Conservatives created our wrecked economy. Then they tried to pin the whole thing - housing bubble, credit default swaps, the eurozone crash and the Greek economic collapse on two guys: Chris Dodd and Barney Frank. Why? Is it because (a) they're both democrats, (b) one looks gay and the other is gay, (c) Barney Franks is left handed, or (d) all of the above?

I'm an objective observer. Not a liberal.

The problem with liberals is when it comes to politics. If you do not agree with their agenda 100% and also support their views then you are a bigot or racist. Example is Obama. If you do not vote for him you are a racist. While there are certainly Americans that will not vote for him based on race there are also Blacks who vote for him simply because of his race. It cuts both ways but liberals will never acknowledge that.

That's because ignorance is bliss. Most conservatives have a hard time engaging in an intellectual conversation because they do not want to break their comfort zone of stupid. They are conservatives because they want to conserve the level of ignorance. They also hated the kid in class that was smarter than they were. They felt threatened by folks who are smarter than their simple minds All they wanted to do was to show off and yap their mouth the loudest to prove a point, albeit poorly, to make-believe they were smart. Whats sad is Obama thinking the government can run something as complicated as health care. There is no one size fits all, people got the plans that best suited their needs but now some buearucrat will decide if you get that operation or not. Ironic that the Obama commercial paints Romney as getting between a woman and her doctor yet Obama gets a free pass on the government taking over your entire health care, thats apparently not a big deal.

Seeing the Federals past failures of Social Security, Postal Service, Medicare, Medicaid, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and having no budget for three plus years I see nothing but disaster when they meddle in health care.

The Health Care issue is extremely complex to understand - this is due in no small part to misinformation via the media. Hyperbolic language such as "government take-over" of health care is inaccurate and confuses people even more.

I have no ideological preference one way or the other. I want what works. The current system stinks to high heaven. So-called Obamacare doesn't take away anyone's rights or choices. As it is people are stuck with crappy choices and dishonest doctors who are gamed by manipulative insurace companies. Trust me - I've been there and seen it first hand.

A conservative recently said to me, "Americans should travel to Africa and see their health care system - then they wouldn't complain about ours here at home". Well... that was the first time I ever heard a fellow American use the Dark Continent as a ballast for making a pro-America argument. It basically translates as follows: if you were living in Africa you'd probably be dead by now, so shut up, accept the status quo and stop trying to make things better. That's a very regressive, unAmerican attitude as far as I'm concerned.

Lastly, I was as lost as anyone else on this topic. Again, it's very complex. I read this post recently and it cleared up a lot of things for me.
