A vote for McCain will be a vote for McSame policies.

I don't know if John McCain is McSame, but he sure the heck hasn't proposed anything new...except that he really WILL attack Iran.

The best thing we could do for the situation in Iran is pull out of Iraq. The instability in Iraq will cause millions of refugees to flood into Iran. The Iranian government will be spending so much time trying to stabilize the situation they won't have the time, energy or resources to invest in nukes.

Of course, McCain will order air strikes, miss the key facilities and unite all Iranians behind a nutjob who previously had only marginal power. We will never learn.

The only thing Obama and the Witch have proposed are more taxes and more government programs. I don't see that helping the economy. So what are we left with?

When her husband was in power he raised taxes on what he called the wealthy. Trouble was the wealthy was described as someone making 50k or more a year. Anyone on here making 50k believe themselves to be wealthy?

That is just not true. The threshold was $160,000 a year. Now, go back to listening to WMAL, and while you are at go see the movie Expelled, it was designed with you in mind.

Fun,
This being America you vote for whoever you want. If you watched the demo debates last week you saw both of them trying to defend higher taxes on capital gains. They were pressed when told that when capital gains are decreased spending increases making for a better economy.
People are less likely to invest when they know it will just be eaten up by taxes.

Raising taxes during a down economy is never a good idea and neither is expanding government.

And yes during Clintons office he wanted to raise taxes on the wealthy, the wealthy being 50k and above. That just doesnt cut it to me as being wealthy. I have no illusions his wife would do the same.

Everytime I hear someone call others wealthy I recall George Harrisons I am the taxman. At the time of the song the highest tax bracket in England was 95% and as the song goes be glad I dont take it all.

What you all fail to realize or wish to ignore is that deficit spending is nothing more then a tax on your future. The piper will be paid as we owe the Chinese more and more of our tax dollars to pay for the bonds they continually buy to support our addictive life styles. The traditional solution to this problem is just print more money thus paying the debt with devalued dollars...the side effect of that policy is $3.50 gas...$3.50 a gallon of milk...jobs leaving the country...oh wait..thats what is happening today. So complain all you want about taxes and illegal aliens...but now that the Republikans have spent your future....you will pay...one way or another.

Amen, Vince(1). I was going to make the same point but nobody ever seems to understand. Republicans always try to scare voters into thinking that Democrats are going to raise their taxes. Government spending=taxes. Shrub and Reagan both spent more than any Democrat ever did. We'll be paying for Reagan for a long time to come before we ever even think about getting around to paying the bills that Shrub is leaving us.

So tell the President to stop expanding our government. Also, where are you getting the 50K mark? It is just wrong. He raised it on the top one half of one percent income earners. That would not be 50K and above. It would be a little over triple that figure.

The President saw the movie Expelled last week. I assume you saw it over the weekend. Did you enjoy it?

No I watched 21 last weekend. I enjoyed it.

BTW I do not care for either demos or reps. Both spend money we do not have. What scares me is Hillary and Obama talking about increasing capital gains taxes. You cannot stimulate an economy by increasing taxes and expanding government.

Right now China holds 30% of our debt. If they ever play hard ball and call it in we are truly screwed. Think 1930s depression to get an idea. No money, no jobs, no credit and runaway inflation.

When did you hear that other then that ridiculous deabte on ABC? The "vow" not to raise taxes on middle income people was ridiculous and in the flurry of debating the commentators each may have mentioned the possibility of raising the capital gains tax (not a proposal)....I think during that flurry Obama raised the question whether it was fair for hedge fund managers to pay very little tax on any of their income...the implication being perhaps the increase in tax might be progressively applied...or that perhaps the tax might be applied when the circumstances changed...when the economy was in better shape then today. As a matter of domestic policy..we should not be prodding politicians to make such stupid promises when the situation might change and might require increase taxes. Let's face it...we cant continue on spending and decreasing taxes indefinately! The piper must be paid!

I think FFX county bond rating says it all about this issue.

Griffin and Edward L. Long Jr., deputy county executive for finance, have also said that using the fund could jeopardize Fairfax's bond rating, which is Wall Street's appraisal of the county's creditworthiness. Its AAA rating from the three major financial agencies allows it to borrow money for big public works projects at low interest rates.
