When I was in college, Domino's pizza was always a serviceable go to. It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible. With kids, I would order it as a cheap option when we had a bunch of friends over and I didn't want to pay much for dinner.
This weekend we ordered some with the "new recipe." Holy Fuck! It was the worst shit I have eaten in some time. It had way too much garlic. And the crust tasted like it was pack full of preservatives.
Really, not good.

Valentinos on Beauregard St just outside Alexandria. Do yourself a favor and get cheese only, that is the way pizza was meant to be. I see people cram eight toppings on one pie, might as well just order a sub if you are going to do that.

I've had pizza from that Valentino's place before, Id give it like a 8 out of 10.
They have huge pies, like a jumbo slice from downtown, but the whole pie!

Pizza Hut is the worst. But Dominos is a close second. Every pie I've gotten from them has been burnt.
Eesh is right - papa johns is the best of the delivery chains, but it's not that hard to beat the other guys.

I second Pizza Hut as the worst. Dripping in grease and almost unedible. Domino's comes in second, however. Interesting that Domino's attempt to make their pizza better just made it worse.

We're Papa John's freaks with Pizza Hut a close second, however yesterday we had a semi-homegrown pizza that was outstanding.
The crust was, I think, Pillsbury (in a can like its biscuits), homemade tomato sauce, cheese from BJ's or somewhere, sliced black olives, green peppers, canned pineapple, some lousy pepperoni that we all took off AFTER cooking it (!), and the magical mystery meat - sliced beef meatballs from the local Vietnamese grocery (these are beef and beef tendon made into 1" balls which we sliced).
It was, as noted, outstanding.
Oh, forgot to mention this was made into an oven-safe frying pan and baked for about 20 minutes in the pan.
Assuming all ingredients are readily available with only slicing and other prep time, this pizza was ready in pretty much the same time a home-delivery pizza would have been ready.
Yum.

Our lunch ladies uhm oh excuse me , Our educational nutrition engineers make a pizza that can only be described as "better than starving the fuck to death".

We make our own- use the pilsbury crust, some prego sauce (any red one will do), 1/3 each mozz, provolone, and parm cheeses, then whatever meat and veggies sliced on top.
Takes about the time the delivery person would take getting to the house (preheating the oven not included).

I can't remember the last time I had domino's pizza. We usually order papa johns or pickup from Ledo pizza. Occasionally I will get pizza dough from trader joes and make a spinach and ricotta pizza.

Domino's flavor is not great, but not awful, imo.
My main problem with Domino's regular pizza is that it tends to give me the runs.
I do think the so-called "NY Style" Domino's pizza tastes much better than their regular pizza.
I actually think that's pretty good, so far as delivery chain pizza goes.

Well, not that my opinion matters, just like your opinions dont matter to the corporate "man". I work for Dominos I enjoy the people I work with, I dont see a career in this, just kinda a halfway job. But statistically speaking Dominos is the #1 pizza DELIVERY company in the world and #2 pizza company. #1 is pizza hut which ironically are the 2 everyone here hates the most hahaha just thought i'd share.

Domino's has always tasted like crap. Their big selling point wasn't the taste, but that it'd be delivered in 30 minutes or less. And so lots of folks were willing to eat third-rate pizza for the quickness and convenience.
What's amazed me is that, as Domino's has backed off of that guarantee, people still order it.
At least their re-branding campaign acknowledged how vile their original product was. I don't know if it's any better now . . . I have no interest in trying it.

Kittie helped me to buy a pizza once, not that long ago. It was extremely nice a thing to happen, and I felt not so alone. I am still grateful for that. I remember I was watching Soul Train at the time.
