The posts are from DCRTV.com, which runs the latest ratings from Aribtron. This is what the industry and CBS management are looking at. Mike himself went on a tirade a few weeks ago about his crappy ratings.

We listen to the show because is provides fodder for this site. This is the best entertainment Ive had since Peter Rosenberg was on WJFK. His day came and Mikes will come too. Then we will move onto the next talentless POS.....

Wow, now that it's clear the show will be on past the 23rd, all the "supporters" seem to have removed the ball-gags from their mouths. It was awful quiet for a while... Y'all silly... "kill yourselves"!? who is really spewing hate?

As much as it strokes my ego to think that anyone from the show would come on here and defend themselves, I truly doubt anyone from the station has even bothered to post here...

Do you really think Joe Ardinger and Beth Ann and Robb have so much going on in their lives that they don't visit here and post here? Their livelihoods depend on dumbass Mike's success. They are probably on here every day going, "Oh fuck That's a good point!" and "Shit! They figured us out!" and "God, it's obvious how bad this is!"

What are these idiots going to do without this show? Joe Ardinger answers phones. That's it. Beth Ann couldn't make it on the air in BFE, North Carolina. And Robb has been poison for every show he has been featured on.

Of course they are on here.

O'Meara needs to go back to imitations with a straight man. He started to do a Brokaw trying to say Obama and Rob stepped all over it. That ended and it was back to the lazy go with the flow crap that is sinking them.

Between kitchen sinking and playing to their collective weaknesses its all over but the crying. Just like my kid they need structure, they need a hardass to play off of so WE can laugh (not them).

I don't have to know Robb personally to know that he is ratings poison who thinks he is smart and funny when he is a VCU-grad dumbass who is painfully unfunny. -click-

Christamighty. It may be funny once, even twice. But it's crap for originality and NO LONGER FUNNY. Then again, "Robbay" is no longer funny. Smarmy, yes. Dickish, definitely (which Don could get away with).

I leave this as my only post to this board as I will never again waste a minute of my listening time on this show.

"United States forces from Fort McHenry successfully defended the city's harbor from the British. Francis Scott Key, a Maryland lawyer, was aboard a British ship where he had been negotiating for the release of an American prisoner, Dr. William Beanes. Key witnessed the bombardment from this ship and later wrote "The Star-Spangled Banner", a poem recounting the attack. Key's poem was set to a 1780 tune by British composer John Stafford Smith, and the Star-Spangled Banner became the official National Anthem of the United States in 1931."

There you have it. If it wasn't for Baltimore, no national anthem.

Would you like ketchup or mustard for your hat?

Obviously I meant that he should name something relevant. Every state/city can list their historical factoids but my point was that he should name one thing about Baltimore that makes anyone alive today want to live there.

So go ahead...name something.

Strip clubs in Baltimore are liberal in many ways, heroin is cheap there.. those things make certain people want to live there.

you may not like the ravens but they are a good football team. people like living in cities with good football teams.

little italy is fantastic in many ways.

the dude who visits edgar allen poe's grave in the cloak is pretty cool (conceptually), and that only happens in bmore. Living there makes it easy to check this out at a moment's notice.

Johns Hopkins University is undisputed as one of the best science education schools in the world. The hospital there draws people to live in the city just so they can be close to the world-class treatment.

Roland Park is an excellent neighborhood with many distinct houses and is a great place to live and play.

It's cheaper to live in than the DC area. Great public transportation.

You keep saying "in many ways." What ways are those?

Also, the Ravens had a good season. Last season they didn't. So an inconsistent football team with a weak offense isn't a draw for someone looking to move.

Also, nobody has mentioned the many abandoned buildings, notorious ghettoes and awful housing market. I realize the housing market is awful everywhere but Baltimore is far behind DC.

The aquarium is nice, though.

The Ravens are hardly inconsistent. They have been to the play-offs a hell of a lot more in the past 10 years than the Redskins, or a lot of teams, have.

I'm from Baltimore and it's a great place to live - much nicer than the DC area. However, both areas have their ghettos and bad spots so it's an argument that could go on for years. Obviously many Baltimore radio stations are getting better ratings in the DC area than WJFK. Maybe Fairfax Underground could start a forum relating to living in Baltimore vs. DC?

Anyway, I'd rather read about what an ass Mike O'Meara is. Anyone who knows him, and that includes me, is excited about his professional downturn. Right now, the problem is that the whole station is down on their ratings. It's sort of like the Detroit Lions situation - who do you fire? Do you fire the whole team? Will firing Michael Hughes really make much of a difference?

Isn't Michael Hughes the guy who got rid of Ron & Fez? Isn't he the one who put Bill O'Reilly and Jay Severin on the station? And Penn Gillette? And gave Peter Rosenberg his own show? And put that horrible "Love Line" knock-off on the air?

Michael Hughes should have been gone long before this. This is just the latest example of his crap-tastic decision making.

I wouldn't fire Big O and Dukes - they're great. The Junkies are good but they're getting more and more jaded; I'd still keep them around. O'Meara comes off as putting way too much effort into trying to be funny rather than trying to be entertaining. He can crack his awful jokes all afternoon long but they're not entertaining. In fact, the best part of his show is when he shuts up and lets the guests talk.

My problem with the Junkies is that they don't sound like a morning team in a top tier market. They lack a certain level of quality. I think they would be fine in mid-days or in the evenings on a Sports talker. But their presentation doesn't sound top notch and if they are getting paid in the millions as a team, they are way overpaid. Does anyone seriously think any other station in town would pay these guys what WJFK does? Or put them on in the morning?

First, Mike never shuts up and let's his guests talk. He is a horrible interviewer. Broadcasting 101 teaches you to ask open-ended questions and to never ask multiple questions at one time. Mike lumps four or five questions into one ask. He has awful interviewing skills. And this business about giving everyone a turn to ask a question is nonsense. Howard Stern only does it when someone has something valuable to add. Mike let's Buzz and Robb ask some of the most inane questions.

Second, how many damn people does Mike have working for him now? It sounds like he must have four or five producers/bookers on his show. And you know who they book? George Michael! And Tony Perkins! How fucking hard is that to do?

I REALLY wanted to like the Mike O'Meara show, and I listened for several weeks straight when it started. But I just wasn't entertained anymore. So I stopped listening. Then I felt bad, so I tried it again for a few more weeks. It's just not funny anymore, imo. I think the verdict is in. If you look at the Radio Gods Forum, there is virtually no one there anymore. And almost all of the comments are negative.

Really? Did he mention it on the air? If not, how do you know? I don't see it on DCRTV, which would be one of the first to run it if it were common knowledge.

I doubt MOM will be on the air to see 2010, regardless of what kind of contract clueless Michael Hughes signed.

Beware of contradicting yourself, WTL. I'm a Big O and Dukes supporter too (though I wouldn't go so far as to call them "great"), but they are among the biggest offenders when it comes to asking multiple questions at once.

Don't believe me? Listen to the next interview in which Oscar takes the lead role. His routine mishandling of English idiom and vocabulary aside, he really is an awful interviewer. Dukes, in his own vulnerable (but much more genuine) style, is far more listenable.

It's a nervous reaction - they're insecure about making the interview work, so they're trying to fill time and make sure they give the guest something to latch onto. But I'll take their banter in a hot second over any interview disaster O'Meara tries to inflict upon us.

Big O and Dukes may suck at interviews. I was talking about their overall presentation. I probably wouldn't care so much about Mike's interviewing style if the rest of his show didn't suck ass.

I don't have a personal vendetta against Mike O'Meara. I just want my drive home to be better. Right now it sucks because he, Effeminate Rob and Buzz are murdering the airwaves.

I don't really like to listen to music on the way home, either, so WJFK is my go to. Can't they just switch Big O and Dukes and Mike O'Meara? That would solve a lot of problems.

Hey pendejo, trust me. The contract has been extended. Only because WJFK had nothing to replace it with. If the ratings continue to drop it will become feasible to replace the show with all PSAs and still get better ratings.

I just want to know how people coming to this site know so much about Mike's contract when it isn't in the public domain. I would assume if this were general knowledge around WJFK it would already be on DCRTV. I have to assume that Mike or Robb are coming on here to post this stuff if it is true.

You're SO right. TMOS is HUGE and it's busting out nationwide! Everywhere I go in the DC area, people are glued to their radio to hear what excitement comes next. My friends all over the country are talking about the buzz this show is generating and are listening online and demanding their local station carry TMOS!

Don Geronimo leaving was the best thing to happen to Mike O'Meara, he has really blossomed and found his own voice and created soemthing so new and compelling that he wil be imitated by wannabes for decades to come.

Hail Mike O'Meara- you are the new King of All Media!!

Wrong? We were predicting MOM would have horrible ratings, and it has come true. I have doubted the show would make it a year. it hasn't been a year yet.

Seriously, Mike. You need to spend less time worrying about what people on the Internet say and spend more time producing a better product. You are phoning your show in the way you phoned your bar in. The bar lasted three years but ended up being a bust...just like your show is going to be.

Here is a quick look at some of Mike's affiliates across the country:

Bakersfield - KGEO - AM - 28th Place in the Market
Sacramento - KHTK - AM 15th Place in the Market (was worse until the station became an all Sports Format).
Wichita - KFH -AM - Buzz's home town - 16th Place.

When Don was on, it was a perennial Top 10 show most of the time, often getting into the Top 5. Mike is lucky if his show is in the teens.

The other night, I ate a massive feast at P.F. Chang's, then went home and proceeded to drink about 12 cheap beers. Needless to say, something bad was percolating in my guts.

I finally felt the call, and went to the bathroom. I sat on the toilet for an hour, and nothing. Inside, it felt like a swarm of bees was going apeshit on my soft, fleshy organs. I cried. I begged. I offered my soul to the devil for sweet release. I tried medication, plungers, anything I could think of. I was desperate to be freed from the demon inside me. I contemplated suicide.

Then I listened to the Mike O'Meara Show, and the suck factor caused my bowels to immediately empty. The toilet exploded as if it had been hit with an artillery shell. I collapsed into the fetal position, and there I praised God for my savior and His son, Mike O'Meara.

So fuck all you haterz.

You fail at grammar, dipshit. Eat shit and die. The truth is there are still a majority of radio listeners in the DC area who are NOT listening to Lard-O, and the breakfast flakes. Going from 21st to 17th place in one set of PPM's only means that he is no longer being outperformed by by the out of town stations.

I think the reason O'Meara went from 21st to 17th is because we have bashed him so much on this forum that people have actually tuned in to see how horrible his show is. I anticipate that "surge" won't last.

I figured out why Mike's ratings "spiked" from 21 to 17.

First, it is entirely possible all this talk about his show not being on the air after the 23rd resulted in more people tuning in for his swan song.

Second, and probably more realistically, I don't see Baltimore stations on the local PPM. I bet anything WJFK bitched about those stations being included because they technically not part of this DMA. In return, Arbitron dropped them. As a result, Mike's show looks like it went up when, in reality, the Baltimore stations that were tied or ahead of it were taken off of the list.

The fans of the show? You mean you and your faggot lover? Because you're apparently the only two people listening. Lava doctor = Little effort

Glad Mike has a crack production staff of four or five people now. Seems that when Don was on all they needed was one producer and they got better guests.

Actually, they didn't really get better guests. They would get people like the Lava Doctor. But Don would bust his balls so bad it made the interviews good. Mike treats them like he is interviewing Kofi Annan.
