What was the name of this product? ~help~

Does anyone remember the name of this product from the late 1970's? - it was a glass jar of pizza sauce that you could spread on a piece of white bread with grated cheese to make ghetto 'slices' of pizza in a toaster oven. I can clearly remember the taste and what it looked like, but can't remember the product name..... anyone??? thanks~

It was called "Pizza Quick". It's still made by RagĂș, but I don't remember if it was always one of their brands, or if they acquired it later.

i remember the boxed pizza kits that you could by in most stores back in the late 70's and early 80's. It came with a little can of sauce, freeze dried pepperonis, some form of cheese. I cannot remember what the deal was with the crust, if it came with it or you had to improvise. i think it was made by chef boyardee or ragu. probably others at the time too.

It was Chef Boyardee and it came with the crust, which was actually powdered, like Bisquick. It was kind of the go-to for pizza at home before frozen people really took off. I remember liking it as a kid, but I'm sure if I had it today I would think it was shit.

Pizza Quick was the Ragu sauce. I used to eat that shit on french bread with Mozarella cheese. It was really popular when microwaves first hit it big.

I never liked Chef Boyardee pizza though we had it fairly often; it just didn't seem right.

When I was a kid I used to just smear a tablespoon full of spaghetti sauce onto an English muffin, and throw it in the toaster oven with some shredded mozzarella on it, and maybe a slice of pepperoni if we had some. It was actually a good snack food.

I remember my friend's mom once made us one of those Chef Boyardee pizzas, the ones with the bisquick dough and weird yellow cheese. that shit was awful, I'm not sure why anyone would buy that over a frozen pizza (which are only slightly less awful).

The Chef Boyardee pizzas were shit. The pizza quick sauce was supposed to be a substitute for the spaghetti sauce that Meeper mentioned ( I made the exact same snacks).

The best "english muffin toaster pizzas" always occurred when there was a little bit of leftover taco meat in the fridge.

Never had the Ragu shit...I remember when the pizza Lunchables came out when I was a kid....

Cold, hard disks of dough with sweet tomato sauce...Cheese and pepperoni to top...Eat it cold and chase with a Capri Sun. Starting to gag just thinking about it.

Can't tell if you're mocking or not, but those cheap fucking pizzas are awesome. Mr. P's, Geno's, etc. they're so bad, they're good in a guilty pleasure kind of way.

I was being sarcastic, that pic on the Appian box looks bizarre and unappetizing. It's like mostly sauce.

I seriously can't remember the last time I had frozen pizza, probably 7-8 years ago. I used to buy those Tombstone ones sometimes. They weren't good but were passable. I forget what kind my parents used to keep in the freezer when I was a kid, but they were dirt cheap, greasy-as-hell, and processed to the point where they looked like plastic. Totino's maybe. Bleh.

The little Totino's pizzas were half my diet in college. They were always on sale for $1.

Mr. P's used to sell - I'm not kidding - for 50 cents at Food Lion back when I was in school. I haven't had a frozen pizza in a long time, but fond memories. Spend $1.00 on 2 pizzas and $8.99 for a 12 pack of Beast and you were set for the night.

I know a couple people who can cook that Boyardee pizza, end up tasting like some New York pizza
