Easter Sunday on WMUC

This Sunday, WMUC will be hosting the Stanford Harmonics, an a cappella group from Stanford University, for a special live performance on Third Rail Radio as part of their Spring tour. They've offered to take caller requests and improvise them... you heard me!

Virginian singer/songwriter Meade Skelton will round out the evening with his catchy, quirky songs that blend country, pop, americana, and more. We'll talk to Meade about his music, his roots, and the Internet notoriety that has made him a local sensation.

If "catchy" is another word for "bad" and "quirky" is another word for "shitty," then, yes, Meade is catchy and quirky.

Boy, nothing says "I've really hit the bigtime", than appearing on a college radio station.


Meade- there are people on campus there that don't even know that station is on the air.

After the way Maryland got whipped in the NIT and didnt even make it to the NCAA playoofs I guess they couldnt go any lower than featuring Meade.

Actually, there were plenty of kids on campus. Meade was very gracious as always, and he enjoyed playing, but he couldnt wait to get back across the river to Virginia, where he felt much more at home.

The annual Easter Krispy Creme roll always has kids. Nice of you to play some music. It's joke Meade. Don't get your Patsy Kline vinyl panties in a bunch because you thought kids got a bakers dozen before you!

One thing though- U. of Maryland did seem kinda ghetto in certain places. Meade said he didn't feel safe at times- but the radio staff and all was right friendly.

Also, there weren't hardly any hipsters there to be found.

But the campus was much prettier than ugly GMU.
