Don't get a Kahr, they are overpriced and they take a while to break in. Glocks are broken in right out of the box.

No, after I bought my Pro Carry II, I wouldn't recommend 1911s to anyone except for competition shooters.

1911s take about 500 rounds to break in, and Kimber requires a recoil spring change every 800 rounds.

I have replaced both the colt recoil springsa with the wilson heavy duty 16lb at 3000 rounds in both. I'm around 2000 rounds on the wilson springs. The wilson springs also reduced the stovepipes and the recoil was better manageable for me ( stopped my limpwristing).

I've had a lot of fun with the XD40 and XD45 that I own. No issues other than a loose feeling trigger pull compared to other polymer pistols I own like the S&W M&P, Kahr and Glock. I've heard good things about the XDS45. for the price and reliability you can't beat it. I dumped a ton into a wilson combat ultralight carry in .45 but traded it towards an Accuracy International AX338.

always appreciate enthusiasm like this, it's very nice.....but lemme ask you a serious question: why do you feel you need to own a gun? Do you feel it makes you safer in some way? Or do you just like guns?

that's a legitimate question. I'm curious as to why a regular, white, upper-middle class "joe" would feel the need to own a deadly weapon...just like guns and boy-toys, or what..? I honestly don't get it.

P Series by Ruger are excellent pistols. The P345 in .45 ACP and the P95 in 9mm are dirt cheap, rugged, and feed pretty much anything you put through it. They are bulky and not too good looking, but will last a lifetime.

if you're a suburban NOVA person (or persons), living in a white, mayo-naisse, suburban, any-town USA place....like Northern Virginia, and you have kids...

then I think, if you have a gun in your house, you should have your children taken away. That's stupid. Why don't you get a pet tiger while you're at it. What other needless, deadly hazards can we put in our homes...where our children live...and eat.

Lets just say firearms are my upbringing. As a former hunter and 4th generation soldier weapons are my life
....literally. I eat, sleep, shit and fuck weaponry. Oh, and collect, reload and repair it too.

My first auto was a P89DC in 9mm. Still have it and love the thing. I just couldn't get used to the decocker....seemed unnatural, taboo
