The recent war on women legislation that Mcdonnell has championed must be overturned, this isn't Alabama and women in this state cannot put up with 12th Century punishment from the men in positions of power. This governor only won by less than 300 votes, we need to follow the lead of the people of Wisconsin and DO something about him. He wasn't elected with a mandate from southwestern trailer park Virginia.

LOL. Good luck, he's only Virginia's most popular Governor in years. And there's no war against women, showing a sonogram of what is inside you, is non-invasive. Get over it, as his term is almost over, and a new person of distinction will be Governor. Hopefully not some liberal like Kaine who had a state debt and closed all of the rest stops, hurting the safety of motorists across the Commonwealth and beyond its borders.

There should be exceptions made for rape and incest, or harm to the mother's life, of course. And I'm sure the legislation includes such measures. At the same time, more birth control availability, would be great. Therefore, no conception would take place. However a life is a life, whether in utero or not.

Why not just stay out of my business. Abortion is legal. It should be kept that way. I would love for no one to every need an abortion or for birth control to work 100% of the time but that is not the case. One you start putting restrictions on womens choices it is a slippery slope.

The man has absolutely no rights and no say in what the woman does with his unborn child. Of course if the women chooses to keep the child, then in most cases the man is 100% financially responsible for it. No hypocrisy there.

The legislation is basically dead. McDonnell asked the House to remove the State-Enforced Rape provision and the nutcase in the Senate who originally introduced this debacle says the Senate will now kill it. Seems like the potential to be VP is more important to McDonnell than his so-called "principles." Fact is McDonnell is now fucked either way as a VP candidate. Moderates won't trust him and the Christian Right thinks he has no backbone.

I think McDonnell is smarter than that - he's not aiming for a losing-team VP nomination this year, he's aiming for a P nomination in 2016.

At the most the law should required the physician to inform the woman that she has a legal right to a sonogram to view the child at no charge to her.

I'm very much against abortion but the distinction is a woman is giving consent for one procedue but not the other.
However, I believe most women, if informed they have a right to view a sonogram before the abortion at no charge, will chose to do so. At least then its personal choice.

Even the sponsor of the bill (a woman!) is now saying that she didn't know what type of ultrasound was required in the earliest stages of pregnancy.
How in the world could a 41 year old woman with three young kids NOT know about the transvaginal thing??? The Honorable Senator is either one dumb bitch---or she's lying to save face.

As conservatives go, we liberals could do alot worse than Bob McDonnell. Elections do mean something, even if those elected do not agree with you. In addition he has done a fairly competent job running the Commonwealth in a difficult time.
