Here's what my new diet looks like !
Posted by: meade-fitness ()
Date: February 16, 2012 12:58PM

If y'all have any nutrition/diet questions- feel free to ask me! I have lost 18 lbs since last Christmas. I want to share with y'all the biggest secret in weight loss: You must write down every calorie you eat!!!! No one wants to tell you this. Its the ONLY WAY to do it. If anyone else is struggling with weight- remember nutrition is more important- That comes before exercise!!

Current Stats:

Height: 5’10.5 inches

Weight: 230 lbs

Waist: 36 inches

Shoulders: 20 inches

Chest: 46 inches

Body Fat%- Roughly 25%.

Current Goal: To get to 200 lbs or 15% body fat . Whichever comes first!

Here’s what a typical day looks like for me:

Breakfast (around 11 AM)

1/2 cup of oatmeal cooked in water. 1 cp of blueberries. 1 tbsp of olive oil. 1 glass of milk.

Or

4 hard boiled eggs. 1 pc of toast. juice

Snack

Large whey protein shake/protein bar. 1 piece of fruit (banana). My shake usually includes oats, banana, honey, and lactose free milk

Dinner

2 pieces of baked chicken, 1 cp of rice. 1 cp of dark red kidney beans. 1 tossed salad with olive oil dressing. 1 cp of vegetables raw or cooked.

Snack

High protein plain yogurt with a cup of fruit

Supper

Fish and or/chicken. 1 small salad . 1 cp of legumes. 2 cps of veggies.

Snack

1 cp of fruit. 1 protein shake smoothie

I get up to 170 grams of protein daily. My caloric intake never goes below 1800 calories, and never above 2500. This is very important if you're doing a lot of weight lifting (like me!) and cardio exercise. Weight lifting is more important for building muscle mass. Cardio exercise should not exceed 3x a week 60 min each time.

Good luck!

The old rednecks where I grew up did the same thing. They called the noon meal "dinner" and the evening meal "supper". For some reason, the word "lunch" was only used in reference to something you packed for work.

I started my diet a week ago. I've already lost 8 pounds. 6 foot 223 to 215 in 7 days. I got your diet beat.

As he stated Nutrition is important, but it's only 80%. You must bootcamp and weight lift or you'll look skinnyfat. Women would rather fuck a pudgy asshole than a skinnyfat nice guy.

That seems like a ton of food to me for one day. And this is your "diet"? Wow, no wonder you need to lose weight.

Is it prudent to accept diet advice from a pudgy, delusional and rather mediocre musician, who may in fact be inbred and marginally retarded?

Um, actually yes I am. I am actualy taller than 5'10
I wear 34" waist slacks, but Im 36" waist. I am 230 lbs. I weighed myself just today. My Dr says around 210 lbs would be my ideal weight. Most people my height have to be around 175 lbs, but they have skinny chicken legs.

A ton of food? Hardly! MMy range is anywhere from 1600-2400 calories at most.

Most Americans eat twice that much in any given day- and more importantly, they dont eat nutrient dense rich foods as I am eating. I avoid processed foods and most red meats.

Its not redneck, its proper! "Lunch" is a term used by mostly burgeois middle class business people who go to TGI FRIDAY'S.

Its actually something called "OLIVIO". Its a butter spread made from olive oil which promotes healthy fats and good cholesterol.

Weight lifting is definitely important. However to lose actual fat- you lose that more from diet than you do exercise. Exercise is for toning. You could actually be lean just from diet alone and not "skinny fat" if you eat nutrient rich dense foods without processed foods. It depends on what look you are going for. I want to look like Gordon Scott:

1800 calories is hardly a lot of food for a grown man.

At that level, you really want to focus on foods with a nutrient density of at least 15 or higher, or else you're really going to fuck yourself up. Cantaloupe, fresh water clams, yams, durum wheat, roast mutton, hare. Foods that are high on the nutrient scale, and loaded with both vitamins and essential amino acids.

What is "skinny fat"?

You say it as if everyone is familiar with the term, but I think only fat people are. Fat people who wish they were skinny.

Skinny fat is people that are relatively thin looking (esp in clothing), but have a higher body fat to muscle ratio. You can actually appear thin and have quite a lot of body fat, but the fat is distributed in a way that is concelaing. Most people who have a BMI that is considered healthy can be skinny-fat. Usually they have very thin chicken legs, for one thing, so they can weigh less that way.

Meade actually suffers from out-of-control flatulence. Dieting doesn't seem to help. Sometimes he will cut loose with over ten minutes of high-energy farting, and in a state of gaseous panic.

Why should cardio x. not exceed 3x a week, I would think some sort of cardio daily would be beneficial. Say a run everyday.

Because that would make you “Fat Skinny” which is when you’re fat and you make up terms to describe other fatsos.

Cardio should happen 6 days a week, rest on Sunday. Same for abs. Heavy Lifting give 1 or 2 days rest. Diet is the other 80%. Skinnyfat means you've lost all your flab but forgot to build muscle, so you look like a stick.

I didn't say it was. Though 2500 is a lot for someone that is supposedly dieting. The difference between 1800 and 2500 calories adds up to about a pound of fat every 5 days.

My comment was obviously in reference to your statement that most Americans eat twice what you do. When I'm not dieting, my daily intake is less than 1800 calories a day. You keep trying to justify your life by making ridiculous generalizations about others.

2500 calories it not a lot if you're doing a lot of weight lifting and other intesnse exercises. Also that is my max. I never go above that. Ideally I stick around 1800-2300 calories.

I really dont think cardio more than 3x a week is needed, if you're seriously wanting to build muscle. Too much cardio will start to burn muscle mass if you over do it. You need to do weight lifting 3x a week and cardio 3x a week for about an hour each session with a few rest days in between.

Light exercise, such as walking the dog is not what Im talking about when I talk about cardio exercise. I mean swimming, running, and anything where your heart rate is up a lot.

You cant really. But you will start to lose weight where the least amount of fat is first. So most people do lose weight in their face and neck before any place else.

I would think weight loss is distributed evenly. The loss of fat in the face is more noticeable, due to your explanation. Is that correct??

6x a day is way over doing it, if you're looking to build your physique while losing fat. 3x a week cardio for an hour is plenty. If you're a serious body builder you dont want to ever over do cardio. Weight lifting alone burns plenty of calories. If you want to look like lance armstrong and be a lean string looking bean, then yes, go ahead and run every day.

When you train with weights, you should work all your muscle groups 3x a week. A good training session can easily be done in an hour. Chest, biceps, stomach, legs, and back 3x a week a week, 1 hour a day. You will see results! Many people try to over train and do too much. This can lead to injury and extreme muscle fatigue and set back your progress.

Follow the Steve Reeves plan and you can't go wrong:

If you do a cardio run, a 2 mile daily run combined with a set of Deadlifts with weights (180lbs on a straight bar) that is all the weight lifting you need. Deadlifts are the best overall strength builder.

An "abnormal workout" is not 2 situps. Meade baby, you know and I know you never ate a "protein bar" for a dessert in your life; Maybe a fudge bar, or a Klondike bar or Hershey bar but nothing "protein"

If the dumb son of a bitch didn't eat this 12 years ago, maybe he will today.
