According to Snopes, it is undetermined if the video is real or not. Apparently the guy in the video is based out of Hawaii and the military is investigating the incident.
Whether it was real, or faked or if the puppy was already dead, the fact is this makes the Marines look like shit. At the very minimum, the assholes who made this video and who gave the Marines a black-eye should be dishonorably thrown out of the service.

I believe it to be real and again, it makes me sick.
Our nation takes youths who are poor, uneducated, and angry to begin with and teaches them that they are no longer individuals, but are now a part of a team authorized to kill.
This kind of thing is to be expected - most serial killers have a facination with death and kill animals before moving onto human beings. In the military's case, it's just the reverse...
