Too many days off

Its hard getting so many holidays like today this time of year.
It starts with a 3 day weekend for vetrans day then a 4 day weekend for thanksgiving and another 4 dayer for christmas. Now we are doing a 3 day weekend for new years and the lee-jackson/ MLK 4 day weekend is just two weeks away.
I will be glad when all this is over. Do we as taxpayers really need to foot the bill for all this time off?

Our fiscal year ends on june 30th. The week before forth of july weekend huge numbers of people are off trying to burn up their floaters and personal days they would otherwise lose.

It's actually true of almost all workers, state-employed or otherwise.

Taking the time off saves them the need to find temporary arrangements for their kids who are off from school.

If you knew the salary they pay you would be surprised. I would bet most qualify for food stamps.

That depends heavily on the particular government organization. All the GS'ers near me aren't missing any meals.
