What company would you suggest I purchase a good reliable hunting Bowie deer skinner knife from, I was thinking K-Bar, Spyderco, Steel Warrior, Buck, Puma, or marbles.

why are people so lazy? there's an abundance of readily accessible information already out there... go find it!!

BTW, it's "ka-bar", and spyderco doesn't have a bowie knife in production that is under $500.

None of the above. Get a Benchmade, they sell them at REI.

The steel is MUCH higher quality.

They got a lot of good knives. Names like "cat skinner" "coyote skinner" "coon skinner". You can buy 365 knives for 39.99, have a different knife everyday, they have nice "go to meeting knives" and Doctors knives and Barlow knives, and Muskrat knives and Cigar whittler and Peanuts and Dragon Slayers.

A good K-bar or Case. Never mind the custom knives, you'll pay about 300 dollars for alot of crazy customization that you don't need. The best handle is stacked leather washers.

I second Benchmade, but Cold Steel offers a greater selection of "good reliable" bowie knives at a lower cost.

I also agree with those, but Puma has some good skinning Bowies as does Linder,,,

Most REAL German Bowies are good quality,,and have a blood edge

I have many, but the one pictured below is a favorite, very light weight and sharp

Around $200,,,

Benchmade doesn't start at $300. A lot of their products are slightly over $100.

German made, (not German steel), like "Hen and Rooster", "Bear and Bull", "Puma".
It can have German steel and still be make in Pakistan or Kazistan or something. Also, the best blades are usually high carbon, they take an edge better then stainless, stainless is tough to sharpen.

This is the Puma I have and I love it. At $79.95 is a great
buy too.

Nice. That's a pretty good site, I've bought stuff there too. I like it cause they have items from all over the world, a lot of surplus items from Germany. I don't know about the ammo though.

I wouldn't trust their ammo. I notice they sell a Wolf which
is banned from a lot of firing ranges. Make mine American made from
one of the biggies like Winchester.

One thing firing range, another in the field after large heavy game. I would not trust that ammo. looks like it's been in those cans from WW2. Like alot of the rations they sell.

Wolf is garbage, extremely dirty and inconsistent powder loads.

Low cost per round means more rounds for a fixed cost, which results in more shooting and higher return on (weapon) investment. I have a quality 5.56 and fully expect it to chew up and spit out whatever I feed to it, including Wolf. I regularly use Silver Bear. Dirty rounds aren't all bad, as through the act of cleaning one gains familiarity with and knowledge of the weapon system.

First you say you use Wolf, then you say you use Silver Bear..... Anyway, dirty ammunition is never good, especially when it fowls up the barrel. But you go on and get intimate with your make believe weapon system.

Ammunition use involves a different mindset. You have to be aware of that quality of ammo. conscious of its' effect. Your life might depend on it. Imagine a Law Enforcement guy using cheap ammo. unreliable stuff to save a couple lousy bucks.

Pretend for a minute that you had a job and had to drive yourself there daily. Would you fill your 1995 Geo Metro with premium gas or the dirty 87 octane?

LOL and 87 octane doesn't cause problems the way cheap ammo does.

Range ammo is not carry ammo, it's range ammo.

If your life might depend on your firearms proficiency, you'd be best off having shot a lot. See: range ammo.
