Most people have read the Declaration of Independence, but few have seen the first draft that was discarded. After much research, I have found it.
It reads....

Declaration Of Independence

For whereas these truths be known, for all herein and present at this convention, we the people of these thirteen or so colonies shall hereby and forever more be known by any name but British, because the King of England sucks and makes us pay taxes on our tea and other goods.
That for the common good, we shall from this day forward be called the United States of America, for lack of a more creative name on short notice.
And that these thirteen colonies shall in no way be indentured to England or any other God forsaken country from here on out because we are really pissed off and we are not going to take it anymore.
Futhermore, let it be known that the governing body herein reserves the right to displace any native peoples currently residing on this land, that being specifically Indians and other heathen savages that do not read the Good Book on a semi-regular basis. That being said, we also reserve the right to kill anyone else we deem a threat to these colonies, or that we find distasteful.

How about we send all the white people back to Europe.

Couple of years ago I stood outside Independence Hall waiting for a tour with a british friend. To kill time, I'd bought a photocopy of the Declaration of Independence, and reading it there, 100 feet from where it'd been signed, was surprisingly affecting. Others in line seemed to feel this as well, and spoke in hushed tones like we were all about to be admitted into a cathedral. The archaic english of the Declaration seemed to really speak to me that day, of courage and risk in the service of liberty.

Not so my british friend. Reading over my shoulder, he gave a running summary "Whinge ... whinge ... lie ... oh, that's just plain bullshit ..." Not sure how we didn't get our asses kicked, and the tour guide must have heard about this cuz he later road my friend mercilessly for being british. There really is no such thing as history, just different rooms.
