Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
My sometimes gf is trying to get me to sign up for cell phone service for her using my credit. I do not want my name on anything she gets. If I buy a tracfone from a 7-11 or Walmart do I have to give any of my info or just buy the phone and let her deal with the registration, if any.
I am content just to buy her more minutes every so often rather than get a giant surprise at the end of a month with a regular contract phone.
Yeah I dont know the first thing about the Tracfones and their website isnt that helpful. Just hoping somone can answer my questions. They have phones for 20 bucks and different amounts of minutes to use but they lost me on how it is set up.
I would never ever get a cell phone for anyone on contract credit.
Get the prepaid phone for her. I believe when you buy the phone and the card with the minutes you just activate the phone and add minutes by calling a 1-800 number or online. Read the directions, they come with the phone.
Ok, thanks. I never paid attention to the phones figured they were for drug dealers and those with little funds. I am just trying to keep peace with her.

I'm sorry, I can't read what you wrote. Too much cum in my eyes.
FYI back when I had one, it was 0.3 minutes (could also be called 'units) to send a text and 0.3 to read one. Shit can add up quickly. If she talks and/or texts a lot, it's possible this might cost you more than the regular monthly bill. Tracfones are really only worth it for single people with little to no social life, and of course the drug dealers.
However if you do decide to go this route, make sure to google for current tracfone promo codes; everytime you refill your minutes you can use a code to get bonus minutes. I suggest you do this on their website rather than on your phone.

I was gonna suggest boost mobile also id she texts and talks a lot. I think it's 40 a month pre paid, so your credit isn't on the line.. But you get unlimited talk and text similar to a real multi year plan. But the difference is you prepay, no contract. If you can't pay one month, its no biggie, the phone just doesn't work.
