just wondering. if you are, you're an irrational pussy. usually the ones who are scared are men, but the frightened women are more annoying about it.

I'm not scared of needles, however I have an irrational phobia/discomfort with having needles stuck into the underside of my forearms or behind my knee. I can take a needle anywhere else - the tops of my forearms, my quad, calves, shoulder, even my face, but those two places freak me the fuck out. Blood tests are torture.

not scared of needles but what i hate is forced injections. for example, some serial killer coming up behind you and stabs you in the neck with a syringe. just the thought of having some liquid unwillingly injected under your skin and into your blood gives me the E B G BEES

the gauge of the needle, how deep it is required to go. Some injections (cortisone) require different degrees of penetration. It is not all the same, some people receive needles in their eyeballs. The most painfull area is in the eyebrows and lip region.

I think this is one of those things where the fear is like 10x worse than the actual experience, those moments up until the flu shot prick are like aghhhhhhh then split second prick very mild pain and it is over. I think of it like a fear of spiders or creepy crawlies. The fear and anxiety far outweigh anything in reality that would/will actually happen.

Though I have had blood drawn. Forget the needle. I get downright into passout/woozy mode as they drain you. I needed two of their orange juices last time :).
