Seriously, who's gonna take the GOP nomination?

What a fucked up bunch. Christie could walk in on the last day and take it. Romney may win but he can't feel good about it. He should say 'Fuck you GOP' and go Independent.

The GOP is a fucking train wreck. Serves them right. Bunch of nutty fucks.

Elections have turned into a "vote for who sucks the least scenario".

It could always be worse.

Hopefully, if a republican does win, it will be Romney. He's liberal where it counts, abortion, healthcare et al.

Amen, Romney will keep Obamacare and easily keep most democratic programs. He's a career politician and won't rock the boat like Cain or Bachmann.

Ahem...I'd think it would be a little easier to just...you know...kepp Obama.

Oh.

Yeah.

Maybe if Republicans weren't such backwoods uneducated pussies they might of had candidates that could of won against Obama. They're up shits creek now without a paddle.

Even mob guy Chris Christie doesn't want anything to do with running against Obama.

Don't bet on it. Not if the right-wing nutjobs get their hooks into him. Plouffe was right - he has no core.

Really - he already has stated that on day one he will invoke EOs to waiver all the states from Obamacare implementation/funding.

I partially predicted the Republican ticket last year. I said it was going to be Mitt Romney, Mitt Romney's hair, and Michele Bachmann.

However, Bachmann has pretty much taken herself out of the contention with her own wacky statements and with the smear job the media has perpetrated on her. Romney may pick Rick Perry as his running mate, but I'm not sure.

Part of the reason the Republicans are working to blow the economy up again is because they know that if they do run Romney and the economy is not completely in the shitter (it's still bad, but it's not Great Depression bad, with food lines and the like) he will lose. He just doesn't energize the base enough.

Basically, Romney will be Bob Dole in 1996, and Obama will have a second term.

(Disclaimer: I did not vote for Obama in 2008, and will not vote for him in 2012.)

There's a few reasons I don't think Christie will be the VP nominee. First, I don't think he's a second banana kind of guy. Second, I think there is probably something in his personal history that is preventing him from running as POTUS that would probably also prevent him from running as VP. Third, if you had a potentially bright political future, would you run with Romney?

If you were a smart Democrat, the last candidate you would want President Obama to face is Romney.

"If you were a smart Democrat, the last candidate you would want President Obama to face is Romney."

Totally agree,,,

I think we can consider Bachmann done, she'll be the next to drop out, and probably soon,,,she'll get trounced in the first couple of primaries and that will be that,,,

The GOP needs to thin the herd, bunch of candidates with no chance of winning, but too stubborn to drop out and let the front runners figure out who REALLY has the most support,,,

Normally I would agree with that, but in this instance I think Obama energizes the base for the candidate. It may not be the greatest group ever to run but the fact is they cant possibly be any worse. Many people will go and vote for them just because they arent Obama

Shes done for sure. Everyone wants to rag on the large field but the fact is this happens every election on both sides when that party doesnt have an incumbent running. Once the new year hits the herd will start to thin quickly as their money runs out.

Man I really like Ron Paul's guts but there's no way he'd win. Gotta give him props for speaking the truth (Reagan tripled the deficit and Paul was right to criticize the GOP messiah).

Romney will take it but he's got a lot of targets on his back. Those bible thumpers will crucify him. Seriously, I think they would vote the other candidate or not vote at all b/c of religion. Fuck, if the can turn the other cheek for all those pedophile priests, do you think Romney has a prayer? Healthcare. Those photo-ops w/all that money he's flaunting? Oh yeah, his hair's also looking pretty ratty these days.

On another note, think Biden will be there in Round 2? I think Clinton would be a good veep and I still like John Kerry.

It's seriously uncanny. Go back 8 years and replace any "Obama" with "Bush" in what you said here. I swear. It's like a fucking mirror.

Romney is ...

- Too much of a "flip-flopper" on decisions.

- Doesn't care about overhauling Social Security.

- Developed his "own" Obamacare for Massachusetts.

- Is the last one to come out with a "flat tax" plan.

- Is more Liberal-leaning than the rest of the candidates.

Gosh, I wish we had more choices.

Wrong, Atom! You'd actually love to see Romney win. He's the closest thing to being one of your Liberal Love Monsters that you adore so much.

He's said a bunch of shit that he's backtracked on to satisfy his base. Unfortunately, he's looking a lot like McCain in the last race in that regard.
