Mysteries of Fairfax General Forum.....explain here
Posted by: Mr. Misery ()

there are many mysterious, long-running mega-threads in the anals of the Fairfax General Forum. Fairfax General, to me, is like Canada to Off-Topic's USA. It's very similar........yet completely alien and isolated. I don't understand even half of what goes on there. I don't know how it works. And I don't know what many of these long-standing threads are even about. If anyone can briefly explain the essence of any of the following General forum threads, I would appreciate it. These following threads remain a mystery to me:

1.The Lamb Center thread
2.the John Tsioushas, aka "John T." threads, such as "John Tsioushas' new restaurant in Hybla Valley, Mamma's Kitchen--Yuk!" or "John Tsioushas Osama El Atari Buffalo Wings running from teh Federales" ......(I'm remembering many of these thread names off the top of my head, excuse me. I may be getting some wrong.)
3.Meat Trucks
4.Centreville Batmobile Man
5.threads about laser pointers and helicopters over Centreville, and why GMU Hokie is so closely linked to these topics
6."Monica Pignotti--cook and quack"
7.Jack Dale threads
8.High School Redistricting
9.Filmdex
10.the origin of "Anklewich"
11."Funny License Plates" (the one and only thread ever started by Mr. Cary.......hmmmmmmm......)
12."Stabbing in Rose Hill"
13.Rent in Peace
14.Rasheed Nurse
15."Boo"
16.Midgetville
17.Bunnyman Bridge (not Bunnyman himself...I know about that...I'm more interested in the author, "Robert Greyberg".....who IS he?)
18.anything about Westfields, Liz Bradsher, Abdul Chadli, Ben Sarley, Tippy's Taco, etc.
19.Cameron Lisse
20.Mallory Leake

who, where, why, and what are all these threads and names about? Explain it all. Some of these threads go on forever. Has anyone actually read all of the Stabbing in Rose Hill thread, for example? What is it about? Who is Rasheed Nurse? What is Filmdex?

unlock the mysteries.

Good thread Miz. I too wonder about these things. I'm guessing that Boo is Boo Taylor who was some dumbass that wrecked his car into someone's house while wasted in Herndon. Jack Dale is FCPS superintendent... beyond that, I got nothin.

The best explanation I've seen:

Re: Lamb Center Thread Explained
Posted by: More Complete ()
Date: October 18, 2011 02:54PM

- The original thread was started by a homeless guy with mental issues who blames everyone else for his problems in life.

- His main point is that other homeless people were getting better treatment than him at the shelter, and that it's just not fair, and should be fixed.

- He also doesn't like the showers at the shelter and says they have mold growing in them.

- It is generally accepted that he at one time was kicked out, is no longer welcome, and has a bone to pick.

- Others eventually came along and chimed in that the Lamb Center should be shut down because helping homeless people is bad for the neighborhood.

- Mentally ill guy chimes in and brings it back to the original point, (as he has tried to do in this thread) that the Lamb Center takes better care of some homeless people than others and that is not what baby Jesus would want.

> 2.the John Tsioushas

Dunno.

> 3.Meat Trucks

Discussion of sale of meat door-to-door by salesmen in refrigerated trucks. Is is safe, a good deal? Anecdotes re sale of meat. Advocates, detractors, and much comedy.

> 4.Centreville Batmobile Man

Not sure, but I think it's about some guy who drove around in a batmobile, and then got busted for using a hidden camera on teenage girls invited to his daughter's pool parties.... Might have the facts mixed up.

> 5.threads about laser pointers and helicopters
> over Centreville, and why GMU Hokie is so closely
> linked to these topics

Basic subject kind of speaks for itself. Some good stories of laser-pointing folk being chased by police. Don't know about GMU Hokie connection.

> 6."Monica Pignotti--cook and quack"

Dunno.

> 7.Jack Dale threads

Runs public schools. Much hatred for his various decisions, and some support.

> 8.High School Redistricting

These decisions have a major impact on families with children. The decisions are invariably controversial, drawing vigorous detractors and defenders. You rarely find more passion on FXU on than on these threads.

> 9.Filmdex

Dunno.

> 10.the origin of "Anklewich"

[redacted]

> 11."Funny License Plates" (the one and only thread
> ever started by Mr. Cary.......hmmmmmmm......)

Kind of speaks for itself, and indeed many of them are funny. As you've probably noticed, Cary used to be a more active and down-to-earth, less Oz-like poster back in the day.

> 12."Stabbing in Rose Hill"

Kid got stabbed and died. Friends and families members on both sides heavily involved in debate - who was right, who was wrong? Very passionate discussion. Much meta-commentary by Mephisto and Gordon Blvd, much of it patronizing and extremely irritating. The teenager who did the stabbing, which resulted in death, was found not guilty.

> 13.Rent in Peace

Dunno.

> 14.Rasheed Nurse

Dunno.

> 15."Boo"

Classic (possibly the first?) "death thread". Gent named Boo crashed his car and died. He was roundly criticized by the FXU regulars; his friends and family came online to defend him. Hilarious pwnage ensued. Epic thread.

> 16.Midgetville

Famous mainly for its inclusion in Radiophile's signature.

> 17.Bunnyman Bridge (not Bunnyman himself...I know
> about that...I'm more interested in the author,
> "Robert Greyberg".....who IS he?)

Greyberg is a serious researcher on the subject, trying to collect actual anecdotes. "Bunnyman Bridge," I believe, was the location of one or more Bunnyman appearances.

> 18.anything about Westfields, Liz Bradsher, Abdul
> Chadli, Ben Sarley, Tippy's Taco, etc.

Liz Bradsher is notorious as the heavy hand behind the closing of Clifton Elementary School. An evil and duplicitous person in the eyes of many, but she has her defenders among a contingent of Clifton haters.

Ben Sarley = death thread.

The rest, dunno.

> 19.Cameron Lisse
> 20.Mallory Leake

Dunno.

To conclude. These threads can be very entertaining if you acquaint yourself with the details so as to understand the narrative. They reach peaks of extreme melodrama, horror, and hilarity. Very vivid personalities emerge, engaging in knock-down, drag-out battles. Reading the best of them is the equivalent of an emotional roller coaster. At times you can't believe what you're reading. You'll find yourself laughing as hard as you've ever laughed in your life.

It's rare to read a book that can generate these kind of powerful emotions, and feeling immersion in raw, complicated reality, as what you find on some of those threads.

good start

and I like the comparison of Mr. Cary to the great and powerful "Oz".......very astute. It is strange......Mr. Cary is surely just a regular guy, not unlike most of us......yet, he seems untouchable, shrouded in mystery. We respect and fear him. He created this place, but he does not engage in the community. Mr. Cary is like our "maker". I'm always fascinated to go back and read his very early posts (when he would post somewhat regularly) and see how he interacted and let his personality show. Now............he's just one big question mark. Who is Mr. Cary? Has anyone ever seen him? Is he single? What do we know about Mr. Cary? He is almost a mythical figure.

I discovered an interesting old Cary thread via Chuck Hoffman's Secret Forums of Fairfax Underground post.

It provides a intriguing glimpse of Cary in a rare unguarded, unself-conscious mode:

http://www.fairfaxunderground.com/forum/read/47/32859.html

I found this remark particularly intriguing:

> AN OREGON TRAIL REFERENCE!? HELL YES! This one took the cake

I am kind of impressed that anyone would (i) pick up on a rather obscure reference to the Oregon Trail, and (ii) am really quite astonished that anyone would find that reference hilarious, reacting to it with an enthusiastic "HELL YES!"

Has Cary ever been as enthusiastic, about anything??

Like Citizen Kane, it seems that learning more about Cary does not solve the mystery, but rather only serves to deepen it.

Good thread, I always wondered what this "Lamb Center" or "Rasheed Nurse" stuff was about but was too lazy to read all that crap.

A few clarifications:

user banned Wrote:

John Tsioushas (pronounced "Shy-O-shiss") was the guy who owned the Shark Club and it seemed like alot of people hated him. He got busted in a big mortgage fraud scam.

> > 15."Boo"
>
> Classic (possibly the first?) "death thread".

"Boo" wasn't even the 20th death thread. The classic death thread started soon after this forum was launched, was spoken about on a national radio show, and caused so much trolling the site was taken down.

I actually started the Boo thread ("Weird Car Accident Story from Herndon"), but not as a "death thread". My intent was to bash the police, who were called to the scene of an accident but didn't find the car for almost 8 hours, even though it was sitting right there in someone's backyard. With a dead body in it.

Midgetville has nothing to do with Radiophile's signature, it's a famous local legend. It was a neighborhood of small houses in the woods near the Cedar Park Shopping Center in Vienna. It got torn down about 4-5 years ago and is now McMansions.

Filmdex is/was some strange building in Centreville. Supposedly it's been there for a long time, but no one ever really knew what they did and there is scant information on what kind of business it actually is. Rumors included that it was a CIA front or some kind of porn company.

After reading the posts made by the "residents" of the Lamb Center, I'd say it is a pretty good bet that is where Spunky posted from. It would explain her disappearance from this board too, given the transient nature of Lamb Center's guests.

Looks like the Lamb Center's days, at least in Fairfax City are coming to an end in very near future.
City got them on zoning violations and I think Lamb Center has one last chance before Virginia Supreme Court.

I think Fairfax City has bent over for the zoning violations at the Asian supermarket next door to Lamb Center.

Filmdex...it's a building that's been on Lee Hwy in Centreville for decades, looked abandoned last time I went past (and all the other times previously).

Here's a bit of info I found....

Filmdex Inc in Centreville, VA is a private company categorized under Burglar and Security Systems Stores. Our records show it was established in 2007 and incorporated in Virginia. Current estimates show this company has an annual revenue of $2.5 to 5 million and employs a staff of approximately 5 to 9. Companies like Filmdex Inc usually offer: Security Contractor Services, Private Security, Security Officer Services, Protective Services and Security Protection Services.

Of course, it's still a mystery and full of intrigue and suspicion since no one's ever seen at the building. There was a theory that it was a CIA location, hidden deep underground beneath the building and with the above paragraph, that sounds even more plausible. :-)

what about the Crazy Diaper Guy in Herndon? Anyone remember this guy? When I was a boy, he used to hang out on the corner of Elden St. across from Anita's, wearing nothing but an adult diaper and a dirty, beat-up old blazer. He looked philipino or something. I used to see him every Sunday afternoon when I would go to Fantasty Five & Dime (the sign always just said "Comics, Etc.") to get my comic books.

Thanks for the link but there are almost 1,000 posts in that thread. After a quick glance, I assume it's everyone piling on some dude who DJ's at a strip club in Springfield, VA.

It is sorta funny that someone would brag about DJ'ing in Vegas. There are hundreds of clubs that are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in LV.

That's sorta like bragging that you worked as a barista in Seattle.

Meeper, its like the Zumba thread but about 8x bigger. Whereas the Zumba idiot got the message and cut her losses, DJMajik decided it would be better to continue to fight a losing fight and persisted in digging his own grave with a backhoe instead of with a shovel.

I think she was involved with this dude named Seth Comstock. One of them slandered the other - I forget who did it first- and it was on. Seth is on coke and has AIDS. Dina has hep C and is on the verge of having her two kids taken from her. Or so it has been written.

EDIT: and it's possible that the dude got nailed for making threatening phone calls to her.

Also supposedly Dina's brother lives with her, slaps her around and is a drug dealer. And Seth said he fucked Dina and did coke together in front of her children.

One of the facebook wars that boiled over to FFXU. Three or four different threads that expoloded - including claims of a suicide attempt that was fabricated. Lovely stuff.

Thanks. As long as that thread is, no one ever reads the whole thing. I think you would be certifiably crazy by the time you got to the end of it if you read it one sitting!

In any case, this summary should be required reading for FFU users.

From what I could gather, the whole Misery is Alias thing "shook him" and he's never come back. unless of course, Tuttle was Miz also...

I think the following post explains the mess rather accurately:

SUMMARY:

cary gets annoyed with misery's shtick

cary bans misery

cary fucks up and bans alias

assholes eesh and fairfaxdude go on lying rampage

other assholes who desire membership in the eesh/fairfaxdude club join in

cary slithers away, never fixing error

harry states that cary was wrong, misery and alias are two separate people

eesh, the lying pig, calls harry a liar..... how could harry and alias have ever met, since he, eesh, knows their IPs (eesh sounds incredibly stupid here)

eesh says he will track down alias and kill her

misery wants harry to DO more to prove alias and he are not the same

misery attempts to out harry, unsuccessfully

harry, tired of the shit, says to himself, fuck it, and stops posting

alias says pretty much the same thing as harry, and goes off to london to get drunk with cousin

The funny thing is while Alias denied being Mr. Misery, she never denied Cary's allegation that she was TROLL@AOL.

Ask Radiophile and eesh; those two retards are responsible for 95% of all the Meade pics and videos on here. Their love obsession with Meade is comparable to that of the gays love of Barbara Streisand!

Filmdex is Bob and Ida Slattery's place, John Slattery the actor is their son.

I believe that Bob has pretty much retired now, Mark Miller has been running the place since they moved their storefront a couple of years ago.

The place in Centerville is used for storage and was for sale, I'm not sure if they sold the property or not.
