Happy Song, Insidious Lyrics
Date: October 06, 2011 09:54AM

School shootings have never been so sunny and carefree...

Nothing's sexier than a coke dealer...

My daughter likes that Foster the People song and I told my wife - did you listen to the lyrics? Of course it would be hypocritical for me to tell her not to listen to it considering I when i was young and impressionable I was listening to Slayer and other bands that talked about killing, death, and Satan

Edit: GO listen to Semi Charmed Life by Third Eye Blind. That song is used in so many happy montage clips in movies, but it's about drug abuse.

This song is so cool and laid back, but I've alway thought the lyrics are a little unsettling.

Loc, you missed the boat on this one. The song is meant to raise awareness not glorify school violence.

That song was way ahead of it's time at the time.

The Kinks? Father Christmas is happy-sounding but the lyrics are pretty downer.

One of the all time "upbeat songs, sad lyrics" has got to be "Born in the USA". So much so that the GOP used this for Reagan's campaign without getting Bruce's permission nor appreciating his political views.

Uh fellas...the song doesn't CELEBRATE the fact of being Born in the USA, it laments it.

I would say Billie Joel's "We didn't start the fire". Has everything in it.

I'm not missing anything. It's a light diddy about a kid thinking about shooting up a school. I'm not saying it's pro school violence. I'm saying the tune juxtaposes the lyrics.

A number of tunes from the Beatles "White Album", examples would be "Piggies", Helter SKelter, "Julia" "Glass Onion". Just about the whole 4 sides carries a couple, although Lennon denied any real meaning in lyrics and their interpretation.

They should retitle the song to either "eesh" or "JBass".
