I have a confession to every american

Many years ago I visited a forum on the net frequented by many and one time a thread that got tons of hits was about how suck ass TV shows have gotten and

so another thread hijacked it and kept it similar as to what show could be made new that would be an instant hit.

I was new there but I knew right away what a hit show could get rave reviews.
We were all sick of the bad guy VS good guy or the BAD guy VS bad guy.

But I knew the perfect blend of good and bad that would send vibes of righteuosness through our veins as it is all in our secret desires to have vengence such as this as it could really happen.

People My confession is this and I lay no legal claim as I happy with the idea they stole from me and I just want recognition and lay no claim to money or anything but just to the idea it came from me.

I "Inachu" am the sole person who thought up the idea for the TV Dexter.
THat is the only claim I put forth and I am happy with what they did in creatig the TV show. I claim no future or currights either.

I am just a fan of seeing victims getting vengence. THat is my desire and that is my fire.

I hope I find that forum. Many dissed me and said the show would never worked but there were 4 or 5 there who liked the idea. A true dark villian who was also a good family man by day no matter how thin the viel was. He always kept his family safe from harm and that was his center rock that kept him close to sanity.

My hopes in writing this confession is that I plan to spout more better ideas for a new better TV show in the months to come.

And yes I do not mind at all if some takes it as their own and passes it on to hollywood. I'm just sick to hell with what they pass off as quality tv programming to us tv audiences.

And no it wont be DEXTER part2. IT will be 100% different.

Until then I'll be hunting for that forum that i forgot to bookmark.

Ideas are as free as the air. A simple concept - serial killer as hero because he only kills other serial killers/bad people - does not rise to the level of material than can be copyrighted or obtain other kinds of intellectual property protection.

Similarly, and by way of example, a simple idea/concept like, say, "Romeo and Juliet redone as two junkies and set in NYC's Central Park" is too broad and lacking in detail to be a protectable idea, whether under copyright or any other form of intellectual property (this idea was the basis for the movie Panic in Needle Park).

Same could be said of "A ferocious shark attacks a Long Island beach community, causing death and mayhem until it is tracked down and killed by an unlikely, ragtag team led by the town's sheriff" (Jaws, obviously).

That's not to say you didn't have a good or worthy idea -- just not one (from the sound of it) that had a sufficient level of detail that you could make (or could have made) some sort of legal claim on it; if you had tried, for example, to copyright it.

That said, it would behoove you, if you have a good idea, to keep your own counsel.

Also, when did you make this post you mention?

The TV series Dexter (first season = 2006) is based on a book published in 2004. So for there to be any kind of plausible connection, your post would have had to have been made pre-2004.

Finally, the thing that separates the men from the boys - the thing that might allow you to get your foot in the door of the film/TV biz - is not merely having a bare, good idea of the kind sketched above, but being able to flesh out your idea into a readable, engaging script.

I want to say I it was around 1997-1999.

I make no legal claim or to hold my own council.

If people use my stuff online im fine with that even if for no monetary gain.
