These Four Things Happen Right Before a Heart Attack

http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/silent-heart-attack-symptoms/2011/09/23/id/412086

Every year, approximately 785,000 Americans suffer a first heart attack. And 470,000 who’ve already had one or more heart attacks have another one. The scary thing is that 25 percent of ALL heart attacks happen “silently,” without clear or obvious symptoms.

Even when symptoms occur, they can be so mild or vague, most people don’t even realize it’s heart-related (unless they are made aware). Four things in particular are the most sinister signs of a silent heart attack.

These four things are the focus of a recent video presentation by renowned cardiovascular expert Dr. Chauncey Crandall: Silent Heart Attacks: A Special Newsmax Heart Health Report. According to Dr. Crandall, the reason silent heart attacks go untreated is because people don’t even notice the symptoms, so he created a special video presentation to show the four things to look for that may be a silent warning — before it’s too late to intervene and survive the damage.

Four steps before heart attack,

Step One: Get laid off
Step Two: Chick says she's pregnant
Step Three: Lose home to foreclosure fraud
Step Four: Baby is part black

Now comes the HEART ATTACK!!!

I believe these are the most common signs of an impending heart attack.

4. Drive back to Va. and eat it anyway.

I'll save everyone the trouble of having to sit through this mind-numbingly bad monotone sales pitch.

The four things are:

Chest discomfort. Most heart attacks involve discomfort in the center of the chest that lasts for more than a few minutes, or goes away and comes back. The discomfort can feel like uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness, or pain.

Discomfort in other areas of the upper body. Can include pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw, or stomach.

Shortness of breath. Often comes along with chest discomfort. But it also can occur before chest discomfort.

Other symptoms. May include breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea, or light-headedness

To prevent heart attacks, cut back on fat intake but most importantly, cut back on sugar.

My girlfriend experiences discomfort in her neck and jaw often. Could she be having a heart attack?

the first thing you need to do if you have those symptoms is to chew up a couple aspirin to thin your blood

anyone at risk should carry them at all times

Thanks Trog; Your's was the first text I was able to find on google that revealed Crandall's 4 things. 'Nothing I didn't already know & I couldn't stand the stupid and apparently endless video.

If he really cared about saving people from heart attacks he would have presented a print version. -but No, somewhere I was sure a time share offer or indexed annuity fund pitch was going to show up.

How it got directed from Field & Stream Magazine, and endorsed by NewsMax I'll never know.

Thanks Trog!! Greatly appreciated. I had severe indigestion last week and thought I was in deep trouble when the coldsweat broke out. Heartburn pill made it all go away very quickly. Is there any way to distinguish between the two? I mean what if I hadn't had heartburn relief with me?

The only thing I learned before the video rebooted my system (perhaps after planting a keystroke capture bug or a screen scraper) was how great they thought the Doctor is.

Ditto what Cheerios said....

the symptoms Trog listed are the same as angina...I've had angina bad a few times but I've never been to a doctor. From what I've read, the main difference that you feel between angina and a heart attack is severe pain.

Those are symptoms that you feel WHILE you're having the angina (or heart) attack though, not really before it.

(and why did Dr. Crandall mention a left shoulder pain a few times before he had his attack? IS that a sign? The video is indeed long-winded, I din't make it through the entire thing).

Women often have jaw and tooth-ache type pain, and not chest pain. Many women actually go to the dentist instead of the emergency room. If you think you are having a heart attack, immediately take 2-3 aspirin pills (preferably chewable baby aspirin, absorbs much more quickly into the blood) and call 911.

And . . .

Always, Always call 911. They will take you to the hospital and communicate with the Emergency Room you are coming and their Cardiologist and staff will be waiting for you.

If you drive yourself and show up in the Emergency Room, no one will be expecting you and you will lose valuable time.

Time REALLY matters so the Doctor's can save you from losing heart muscle and possibly your life.

Remember, tell your family to always call 911. I work for a hospital/School of Medicine and I know.

aspirin slows the clotting process, giving the paramedics time to get to you. everything the ER can do, paramedics can do. wait where you are. call 911. the paramedics will give you "clot buster" and transport to the Inova Fairfax cath lab. my dad had a heart attack about 7 years ago, in Centreville, about 8am at home. the paramedics gave him the clot buster in the driveway. they would have flow him by helicopter to Inova Fairfax but it was overcast. they had to drive in him in rush hour traffic all the way there in an ambulance. got into the cath lab and put a stent in. there are advantages to living near good hospitals and not out in the sticks somewhere.

I had what is known as a "silent heart attack" last year. Absolutely no symptoms, just felt like the flu or dehydration beforehand. Co-workers said I suddenly got very greyish looking and they called ambulance. Woke up in heart surgery recovery room. Thankfully, many very caring people were there for me and realized how serious my situation was...

Boring speech about the doctor lasting a long time. I stayed on for quite a while until I was really mad and turned it off.

I had a bad heart attack in my thirties after a minor female problem thought to be brought on from Birth Control pills. I had a D & C at hospital, and came home the next day. I was fine, and about to go out to lunch with a friend, when it struck. No warning. I don't remember a thing. Next thing I knew I woke up in the hospital 2 days later and was told what happened. I was in hospital for a month, and still don't remember any fore-warnings, that I've read here. I'm sure I was in pain because my daughter told me that I said I was, and told her to call a doctor right away. I don't remember anything else. I was told friend drove me to the hospital. When I woke up, I still couldn't remember what happened. I refused to believe I had a heart attack and was unconscious off and on for two days.

If the guy cared about his patients he would give the signs first, then explain about his 40,000 operastions and finally pitch his book etc.
I got discomfort in my arms, legs, back, neck and especially chest--- shortness of breath--- cold sweats just from watching his video....

1. Pain in the chest.

2. Shortness of breath.

3. Dizzyness.

4. Death

Afterwhich you will go either up or down - or maybe nowhere but in the ground. Maybe you opt for ashes, but either way, you are screwed.

how do you get them? simple. people in the town give you head injuries, poisoin you near death twice, injure you, interfere with your schooling, and delete all your job inquiries, then falsely prosecute you using false course.

while waiting for justice like magic: you'll get heart problems. it's simple!

If you think you are about to have an attack then this is what you must do right away in order to greatly survive the attack!

A. Breathe fast. (hyperventilate) until you feel dizzy.
THis makes your heart work less thus more likely bypassing the attack

B. take an aspirin to thin your blood so it travels in your system.

C. Next thing is hard but you now need to calm the fuck down.
Calm your nerves and maybe go for a slow walk to keep that oxygen flowing properly.

D. also if you are a drinker then stop drinking those drinks they are killing you . when you crave for a drink then grab a lolipop instead.

In reply to Healers:

WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!

I speak from experience: I have had a heart attack, 3 angioplasties, a triple bypass and I live with angina manifesting itself after slight exertion. As I obviously have a vested interest in the subject, I have done my homework.

Point A: DO NOT HYPERVENTILATE. That dizziness that you refer to is an indication of lack of carbon dioxide. There is no way you want to risk having the patient go unconscious, which would further complicate the problem. Hyperventilating makes your entire body (including your heart) work HARDER and can result in heart palpitations. Palpitations will further the heart’s dysfunction and unnecessarily alarm the patient. Low carbon dioxide levels eventually lead to narrowing of the blood vessels, which is definitely not what is desired during a heart attack. There is no way to “bypass” a heart attack in progress. A heart attack (heart muscle damage) is caused by a blockage in one of the coronary arteries (RCA, LAD, Circumflex, or Left Main). All blood must go through the heart (the pump) and through the lungs (the aerators). As long as the patient is breathing normally, adequate oxygen is available. (Only if a patient is not breathing, is breathing assist [CPR] required.) The problem is that blood flow is restricted by the blockage and thus the heart is faced with a Catch 22 situation: it has to pump harder to force blood past the blockage in its coronary artery, while at the same time being damaged itself by the reduced blood supply to its coronary artery. Breathe normally (not rapidly) making sure that you take a full breath to maximize absorption by the lungs. Hyperventilation is often the result of a heart attack… not a remedy for one!

Point B: Yes, use Aspirin, but CHEW IT, so that it is absorbed quicker. Aspirin DOES NOT THIN THE BLOOD; it slows the clotting action by reducing the clumping of platelets that form a clot thus helping to reduce the size of the clot. The blood stays at its normal viscosity. The dosage for a person experiencing a heart attack is: 1 adult-strength (325 mg) or 2 to 4 low-dose (81 mg) aspirin.

Point C: Yes, you need to stay calm, but DO NOT TAKE A WALK. That’s like driving on a flat tire; it’s only going to make things worse. Any amount of walking increases the demand on the heart to supply the leg muscles that should be resting at this time. What you need to do is to SIT DOWN, loosen any restrictive clothing and relax. Sitting also reduces any potential physical injury if the patient passes out and falls. DO NOT LIE DOWN. Lying down increases the demand on the heart to supply the lower part of the body. Sitting allows gravity to assist the heart in supplying that lower area, thus reducing the demand on the heart. If you notice, heart attack patients on a gurney are always positioned with the upper part of the body elevated, for that very reason.

Point D: While alcohol should not be given to a person having a heart attack, a lifestyle of moderate alcohol consumption does not increase heart attack risk; in fact studies have shown it to have a beneficial therapeutic effect, especially if it’s red wine. On the other hand, sucking on a lollipop, which is just sugar on a stick, is just a complement to one of the major causes of heart disease – excessive sugar consumption in the western diet.

I don’t know where you got your information to make the inaccurate statements that you did, but you have been grossly misguided.

I'm pretty sure these are the signs of having a stroke not heart attack?

Thanks to trogdor from me too. Not only was the vid tedious, but it was such a shameless and very old ploy that it was embarrassing. I'd die of shame, never mind a heart attack. Juvenile. I wouldn't want such a dork operating on me.

Aspirin is also a vasodilator, I think, as is alcohol in small doses. So chewing an aspirin and swallowing a few glugs of brandy would help. No?

Yes, a heart attack is a very difficult situation in which only AED equipment can help, if every enterprise had such equipment, a lot of lives would be sleeping since before the arrival of an ambulance, life is measured in seconds.
