Why do men love ceiling fans?
Posted by: Mad ()
Date: September 28, 2011 04:39PM

We have great AC in our house. When we remodeled our living room and kitchen area my husband insisted on getting ceiling fans. Granted they are the updated model but I hate them with a passion. I always turn them off when he is not at home. I just hate the breeze they create. I want to take a gun to those things.

Thanks for letting me vent.

They save a lot of energy and are cheaper to run than AC. I have three of them.

Do you work?

Maybe you need a new husband. What do you look like? If you are hot I will rip out every fan in my home for you baby. If you are fat just say so.

+1. I have five in my house. They run most of the time. Keeps the bills down and allow me to open the house up more than my neighbors each year.

Men have thicker skin than women (for doing battle - rawr) and larger, more muscular body frames (also for doing battle - rawwwr).

So we create tons of body heat.

We need to cool this shit doun rite nou.

Also, Men of European heritage evolved in frigid climates. While the women folk were nice and comfy in a fur blanket (that we killed!) next to a fire, we dudes were out in the fucking snow hunting bears and shit.

So our core body temperature is slightly higher than yours.

If you want a dude who doesn't mind the heat, go nig.

Their disgusting velcro hair is a like a ventilator.

I love my husband. We are hot. Married 17 years now. I guess after reading all the posts I think I am crazy. If the worst in my life is a little breeze I should count my self lucky.

Thanks for all of you helping me come to realize if we still have sex X so many times we still are crazy for each other. I now LOVE my ceiling fans. I hope they can cool my panties in the kitchen while I cook dinner tonight.

God bless the FFU!

I love my white noise machine. Plus I put in my Bose headphones and I drift off.

My man can now burp and fart all he wants.

King bed plus Bose headphones and an open window on my side=happiness.

Now bitch about women. We put up with a lot. Be nice. If not I think we should refuse to shag.

Sometimes it not just about temperature-it's also about air flow. A good AC can bring the temperature down to comfortable levels, but if the air isn't moving around it can feel stagnant.

I like ceiling fans, and big open windows, with long white curtains swaying in the breeze.

I pretend I'm Ingrid Bergman, having a drink in Rick's Cafe. It's hot, but the delicate fragrance of the balmy air is intoxicating, so I don't feel the heat. Humphrey Bogart walks in and .....

Back to reality.

After installing a fan in a room with 25 ft. ceilings, I said to husband, that's beautiful... he agreed. Meanwhile, I'm thinking, it's not working, it's sticking out, it's not blending, I don't like it, I hate it.

So, I waited a few weeks... actually, one day, and told husband the fan sucked, all my fault, since I picked it out, but it's got to come down, what a stupid mistake.... sorry....

So, electrician returns and installs new fan; this one is so beautiful, so awesome, I'm so happy, but then, after a few hours, I panic.... OH, MY, GOD, the first one was better.

I plead insanity.

Help me, husband, help me, save me from this nightmare... what would you like for dinner, my dear?

The second fan came down and the first one went back up.

(imagine what the electrician was thinking)

My Jones Beach story isn't a work of fiction so it couldn't be called a novella.

Maybe I should write a book of personal essays.

"Riding the Waves and the Adventures of Alias"

The title needs work.

I'll need an editor; I wonder if Harry is available...

ha, that is funny. We had one of our ceiling fans shake loose one night. I woke up at 2 in the morning and heard a fast, loud banging noise downstairs then suddenly CRASH!! You could hear glass shattering and it sounded like someone kicked in our front door, I was terrified. We finally went downstairs, and saw that out ceiling fan and shook itself right out of the ceiling and came crashing down onto our glass coffee table. The loud clapping must have been the fan blades slapping into the ceiling as it was wobbling. It nearly scared my husband and I to death. It was a pretty new fan that we had stolen out of a hotel room in Ocean City, my husband installed it but I guess he didn't do too good of a job. I certainly gave him an earful after that whole ordeal.
