GOP Primary: Perry 29%, Romney 18%, Bachmann 13%

What a splash. Word is out that the White House op research team is working around the clock trying to disarm what they consider a clear and present danger in Perry's entry for the GOP's candidacy. The White Houses preliminary internal polling on a possible Perry / Obama match up looks grim with Perry leading by double digits over the president. Obama has team of investigators in Texas and on the ground right now. CBS news has dispatched a team of investigators today to start combing Perry's history. NBC news will follow soon trying to scoop everyone else on the hunt for anything that can sink this guy fast. Word is Obama wants him destroyed politically by labor day.

Panic has now ensued in the Democrat ranks. You would think they would have anticipated the Perry phenomenon and planned accordingly. Obama's 3 day tour was suppose to be a preemptive strike against Perry but has failed miserably.

It is going to be a long 11 day stay at Martha's Vineyard. Obama's campaign war room will be working overtime and you can bet Obama won't be happy.

Yes, in the GOP primary that might be just about right.

Perry is well on his way to self-destructing. Don't worry, the press won't have a hard time doing this.

+1

Perry has only been in the GOP race three days and the Republican party is already saying they do not agree with some his statements.

Perry's days are numbered. I'm guessing next, to complete the "Republican Circus" of candidates, we'll see Palin jump into the race once Perry self destructs.

I don't see Perry self destructing anytime soon. His recent statements on whatever were calculated to gel the conservative/ Tea Party base early on and it's working perfectly as planned..

Unfortunately Obama , members of his administration, congress, and willing accomplices in the press have lowered the bar substantially when it comes to heated political rhetoric and outright schizophrenic hate against conservatives and the Tea Party. Obama and the Democrats have corporately decided to employ a flash mob style campaign deduced to the lowest common denominator of civility and it has begun to backfire on them in epic proportions.

Don't forget this next clip because the conservative base damn sure hasn't.They are currently using it as their battle cry and it is devastatingly effective among the ranks

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCMDur9CDZ4

Couple this with Obama and every liberal hack that could find a camera or microphone accusing the Tea party contingency in congress of, "holding the American people hostage", and being terrorists during the debt ceiling/ budget debate and you have all the fertilizer required to energize the grass root Tea Party movement into high gear.

I agree with RR on the point that desperation has set in and set in early at the White House. They have got to figure out a new strategy and fast or Obama will face not one early challenge but probably several from the Democrat party, most likely from a resurgent movement vein of the Democrat Leadership Council.

If the sea Obama is sailing doesn't change drastically within the next 60 days look for a major overhaul of Obama's campaign staff to follow.

I'm just a voice in the wilderness but I have always been right. It doesn't matter to me one way or the other anymore but the political reality currently in the US is weighted heavily in favor of the dreaded Republicans and the equally if not more dreaded Tea party movement.

You can't accuse the Fed Chairman of being a traitor and not expect it to come back and bite you in the ass. It will turn off moderate voters and the fact that Bernanke is Jewish isn't helpful to Perry's cause.

The name calling is all part of the Republican repetoire now a days. Not only Bernanke not a traitor, given the level of inactivity by the Congress, he is singlehandedly saving the economy. He knows what to say and how to say it to calm the markets. And that makes him enemy number 1 of the Republicans.

Even if you disagree with Bernanke's approach to things, it's wholly inappropriate for a presidential candidate to accuse him of treason and insinuate violence as an appropriate way to deal with it. The cowboy act was fucking tiresome under Bush. I don't think people are prepared to go through it again with an even dumber person behind the image.

I don't think the Fed Chairman is so sacrosanct that he is above a little cowboy bravado. No one believes that Perry would "string em up" in Texas. I for one am glad to see Bernanke get bitch slapped a bit. The guy has only cranked out over 1 trillion in liability on tax payers in less than 2 years.

Perry's remarks were an early warning shot across Bernanke's bow and it needed to be done in what ever form. Bernanke announced this week that the prime rate would be static for the next 24 months regardless of immediate economic circumstances. That is a hell of a long time in Federal Reserve years to lock in static action. What if inflation is running at a double digit clip next spring or summer? Is Bernanke going to retract?
At that point if he does he's history and if he doesn't he's gone also. Get ready for a new FR Chairman by the end of next summer regardless. At that point we'll see what the domestic/world economy's response will be to the attempt at creating a calming factor in regards to the United States Federal Reserve stance towards the existing domestic political landscape. Sacrificing monetary policy is irresponsible. Just wait and see.

Believe me Bernanke knows Obama is in trouble. Throwing water on a grease fire is never a good idea and that is exactly what Bernanke did this week. He just neutered himself and either doesn't know it or plans on getting out. I surmise the latter.

Mark this post because I'll bet my first born Bernanke and Geithner will be history long before Nov. of 2012 because early on they'll know Obama is history too..

This is a damn tough lesson for a hell of a lot of people to learn and it was totally unnecessary and avoidable.

6,000 votes for Bachman should've been disqualified, thereby giving Paul the victory. Her campaign sponsored a Randy Travis concert for which you couldn't get in unless you voted for Michelle Bachman just before the concert.

That's why my plan to combine Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota and Iowa into a mega-state is such a genius idea.. That would balance out Texas electorally

Iowa with it's six electoral votes gets way to much attention just because they are a bunch of slack jawed fucking yokels chawin' on their tobbackie and corn cobs. Doesn't it seem they get a lot of attention for a bunch of hillbillies?

It was a straw poll, not an actual election. Though it was kind of shitty on her part, regardless.

Maybe if he's elected he'll take care of our local coyote infestation.

Seriously, why the fuck are their packs of coyote running around Fairfax now...
