HD televisions are over rated

I own one (HD) but in my opinion they are over rated.
All of my favorite Redskins, Capitals and Bullets moments were watched on a television similar to the one in the picture posted above.
All of my favorite WWF wrestling and boxing moments were watched on a television similar to the one in the picture posted above.
All of my all time favorite home video games were played on a television similar to the one in the picture posted above.
All of my favorite all time movies were originally watched on a VHS VCR plugged in to a television similar to the one in the picture posted above.
All of my favorite all time television programs were watched on a television similar to the one in the picture posted above.
I have yet to expereince anything equally as great on my new pricey HD television. Tons and tons of crap but nothing great.
So many great moments and all I needed was an SD television.
SD > HD.
HD televisions are over rated.

Actually CRT still have the best contrast, something like 1,000,000:1

I watched B&W shows - only - on an old RCA TV as a kid/teenybopper, went to color as a teenybopper/something, got my own CRT TVs as a moved-out adult, and finally was convinced by wife and kidlet to get a 52" Vizio wireless-enabled HD monster.

I will never look back.

It is way cool. Streaming HD video over-the-air via wi-fi is supremely enjoyable.

Is that your maroon 90s-era chrysler (taurus?) pimp parked in front of the garage behind you as seen in the reflection?

And do I see the faint outline of a frizzy mullet?

HD just lets you see the same shitty TV shows in greater clarity.

The ONLY reason to have an HDTV is to watch the latest porn DVD's that were recorded and produced in HD to start with. My favorite porn flicks are chicks masturbating and diddling themselves silly. Love those close up shots of when a pussy oozes from arousal or when she loses control of her bladder when she cums.

I'm with Ye Olde Farte... Actually, OP, your argument is ludicrous...

Gotta have the Hi-Def display for porn! HD is the only way to see the crabs running for cover when the action goes down!

My point is/was HD televisions were not needed to enjoy hours upon hours and tons of classic programming in the past so it is definitely not needed for all of the crappy programming of the present. You are just being brainwashed into thinking you need one when you really dont.
SD > HD

Fixed. Your point is bullshit. I don't think I need an HDTV, I have one because the screen is considerably larger than my old tube TV, it is infinitely thinner and lighter, and it is far easier to use with multiple devices such as the cable box, dvd player, xbox and wii whereas with a SD tv you would only be able to plug two of those in at a time (generally).
