I lived there for 20 year, you have no F_cking idea what you are talking about or about Ca. problems, so STFU!

Let me break it down for you:


High Taxes: Tax revolt of the 70 and 80s created very near sighted prop.13.
High Taxes#2: Voter backed initiatives, which floated bonds like crazy
Illegals: Farms, Farms and the rich wanting cheap labor and libs protecting them

He is pretty close. I lived there for 14 years. I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Overtaxed - yes. I paid much more in taxes and all of the services were sucked dry by those that didn't pay any taxes - legal citizens or otherwise.

I earned six figures while living there. The best schools in the best area that I could afford to live in CA are nowhere near as good as the worst school I'd get stuck with out here. People complain about FCPS - I have seen much worse.

I was there for the Gray Davis recall, the Ahhhhnold election, the LA riots, the LA quakes, the OJ Simpson verdict, and the Oct. 2003 fires that burned over 2,600 homes - and almost burned mine. I was also there for the $300 10mph over speeding ticket - which is dismissed if you take traffic school and pay a $275 admin fee. You just fucking tell me that's not about money.

My family calls and cackles when we get 2ft+ of snow. I love it. It was fun having the day off playing with my boys. They pay dearly to live there every day. That sunshine is not free. I'm not saying that it is all bad. That grass is definitely not greener.

From 1983 to 2011 California had a repulican governor 90% of the time.

If you dont think we need an immigrant/migratory workforce to pick our crops you are a fool. The stupidity of the situation is not providing a means for those people to work here legally. If libs are guilty of anything is wanting those people to be treated as human being. If thats "protecting" them, Im all for it.

They'd better be immigrants because our own migratory workforce turned into pussys years ago and decided to only take jobs as CEOs.

That would be the 9.1 percent of the US population that's sitting on it's ass waiting for the next CEO job to open up.

Re. Illegals:

You presuppose that labour is a commodity without substitute. If the wages for farm workers were allowed to rise in order to find equilibrium, then so be it. If that is economical, the farmers can either switch to more lucrative crops or let the field sit fallow. As businessmen, they take risk, so let them take their medicine.

An increase in wages tends to spur demand for labour saving capital equipment. In Japan, there are already robots that pick strawberries. This spurs the kind of innovation that increases productivity and the quality of life, and spurs demand for programmers, engineers, and yes, CEOs and other management that add value through organising the operations.

All that needs to occur is to let the market find an even footing. However, this will not happen because of lobbies that are close to power. The leftist faction salivates at the prospect of a permanent majority, and the rightist faction have strong constituencies in the farm states that seek subsidies (i.e. welfare) and blind eyes for their illegal workforces. Furthermore, the fatuous egalitarianism that prevails in this country facilitates a focus upon the advantages of the illegals while ignoring the great costs that are borne by the ever-forgotten taxpayer. In summary, this odious regime and the beast with two heads that is the party system will gum up the works as usual.
