Brian Dunn at Best Buy worked his way up from a sales associate in 1985. He doesn't appear to have a college degree, either.
Also, while John Chambers at Cisco may not have started at a minimum wage position at his company, he attended all public universities and probably worked minimum wage jobs somewhere along the way.
I agree that most top-tier CEOs probably come from affluent families and attended Ivy League schools, but many haven't.
