In layman terms the House Representatives are referred to as "Congress" or Congressmen and the Senate is referred to as Senators.
Yes, both are technically in the same building and both Senators and House Representative are "Congressmen," but that is not the public perception. Do an informal survey.

I realize how big of an influence Congress (Representatives and Senators) make in the rules and running of our country. However, this is the guide / survey that I'm most interested in: Obama's approval rating.
Consistently headed downward:
