It certainly doesn't have anything to do with the teachers union and the NEA fighting for last in first out personnel policy. Crappy teachers punching time clocks and contributing $0.00 to their pension funds aren't an issue either.
You don't spend enough on education in DC. You need to pay much higher taxes for the children. Total spending is close to $25,000 per child -- on par with tuition at Sidwell Friends but this figure needs to double. That way positive steps can be taken by the teachers union funding campaigns like Obama's.His greatest contribution to children's education in DC was to shut down the voucher program for poor kids to attend private schools. The United States of America can ill afford blacks to be educated.
