I'm just curious how many of you who voted for the gigantic failure who currently occupies the Oval Office now regret that decision.

Same here. Boner and Can't-or are the failures in this situation. What leadership have they shown? None.

You'd better elect a Republican House and Senate if you plan on getting anything done with a Republican President. Republicans have thrown down the gaunlet on how to be totally disruptive and uncooperative. They have followed the Rush Limbaugh strategy of scorch and burn. You can expect double that the day one f your looney candidates win.

It is dumb ass democrats who still want to over spend and tax. The GOP has put forth a plan that pays for all bills/entitlements and cuts spending. The Bavarian Coporal and the Senate Dems look like fucking crybabies for not even putting this to an up or down vote in that chamber.

MSM narrative. They would have you believe a president who has broken almost all his promises, and accomplished nothing except failed policies is a good president. What a joke. When it comes down to running on issues Obama will lose - the MSM is doing as hard a job as they can to NOT discuss anything important as far as his failures, but the economy and other factors are conspiring against him.

Interesting reversal of logic. "I had no choice" when in reality that's exactly what you were given, a choice. Perhaps a more accurate statement would be, "I felt I had no good choices". But that is exactly what politics in this country is abput, compromise, and it either works or doesnt work. Currently one political party feels it doesnt work. I cant imagine what form of government they'd prefer. Seig Heil!

I voted for Obama and it looks highly likely I'll do it again.

Unfortunately, once again in OTHER elections I actually will be voting AGAINST people rather than for them. I'll probably also donate some money to help with that effort.

The Crazy Republicans with their "Kill America off as long as we win" politics simply have to go; I've never seen such Politics of Hate in the entire time I've been voting - more than 40 years.

A real problem is it's getting worse and worse. So The People will just have to get rid of the instigators.

Gee - doesn't that sound like something a Republican would say? "It's not what we can do for the country, it's what he's doing to the country!". With, of course, absolutely no plan for the good.

Isn't that sad?

Your response is pretty much the definition of irony. You vote for Obama because you were afraid that the GOP alternative would devastate the economy. And yet, your choice of President and Congress in 2008 have pretty much completely obliterated our economy. Happy now?

It's interesting that no one so far who has 'fessed up to having voted for Obama, and actually is brain dead enough to plan on voting for him again (even though no one knows who the Republican nominee will be), has not mentioned one positive thing about Obama's presidency that shows he deserves a second chance. He's been a complete failure thus far and there's no reason to believe that is going to change in a second term. If he were white, no one would even consider him a viable candidate for another 4 years in the White House. He's our first affirmative action President.

I voted a split ticket - R for Pres, D for Congress. I didn't like McCain either. His staff had the Bush advisors. Obama's staff had the Clinton advisors. Both staffs had many of the same people who contributed to the financial crises of the last 15 years.

I voted Bush in 2000. I thought he would be a do-nothing president but 911 gave him far more power than I expected. He really fucked up the country. I voted Kerry the next election.

The lesson from the last ten years is that it's much easier to screw things up than to fix them than to extricate the government from these flawed policies because of the corporate interests pulling the strings and the roughly 50-50 split in the legislature.

Are you blind, stupid or just a Republican bent on ignoring the facts?

Here's what I think Obama had done right.
1. Brought us back from the precipice of a cataclysmic financial melt down.
2. Kept us on track for withdrawing from Iraq
3. Passed heathcare reform
4. Financed stemcell research
5. Nominated fantastic Supreme Court justices
6. Has appriately waled a fine line supporting the Arab Spring
7. Has let Israel know our support is not endless and unconditional

Im sure I can think of more.

1. Leftwing dupes like you keep making this claim that Obama somehow saved the economy, but you can't point to any empirical proof of this. Saying it doesn't make it true. By nearly every objective measure, the economy today is worse than the one that Obama inherited.
2. It's now more than half way through Obama's first term and we're still in Iraq. A promise of withdrawal is meaningless until it happens. Richard Nixon promised to get us out of Vietnam when he ran in 1968. How did that work out?
3. I suppose passage of health care reform can seem like a good thing to statists like you who want the government calling all the shots with regard to our health care decisions. For freedom-loving Americans, this is nothing short of a disaster in the making.
4. Again, government (ie., taxpayer) financing of stem cell research is only a good thing to statists like you who feel that it is your right to dictate how the government should spend other people's money.
5. Obama nominated two completely under-qualified women to the Supreme Court. The first one was an affirmative action selection to get a Haspanic onto the court. The second was to get a guaranteed vote in favor of his unconstitutional health care legislation because she won't have the integrity to recuse herself. If you're not aware (and something tells me that you're not), Kagan as Obama's solicitor general was involved in efforts to defend Obamacare from legal challenges.
6. Egypt is falling apart after Obama's "walking a fine line" completely undermined the Mubarak government. Obama can be very proud of playing an instrumental role in this one-time ally's rush to become yet another America-hating hard-line caliphate.
7. Obama has let Israel know that they no longer have a friend in the White House.

Try again. Your first 6 arguments in favor of Obama are pretty weak. It was a nice effort, though. Too bad that you only know how to parrot the leftwing talking points coming out of the White House.

How did he do that? Which specific bills did he sign that did this? The stimulus? With all the money it shipped overseas?

> 2. Kept us on track for withdrawing from Iraq

Followed Bush's plan. At least you didn't mention Gitmo, which he completely failed to do as promised.

> 3. Passed heathcare reform

Yep, is going to utterly destroy our health care system in order to rebuild it in the leftist image. Which is to say, has taken the best health care system in the world and ruined it.

> 4. Financed stemcell research

So did Bush. Oh, you mean EMBRYONIC stem cells, not ADULT stem cells. See, what the rest of the world is figuring out (check the studies, especially in Israel and Korea) is that embryonic stem cells are actually harmful. Adult stem cells - which Bush poured billions into - are useful, have been used for decades, and are consistently being used for new cures. In fact, every single time you hear about something new that is being helped by stem cells, it is ADULT stem cells being used. California already sank $3 billion into embryonic stem cells, with nothing to show for it, and is planning on using more. The best part is that scientists have figured out how to trick adult stem cells into behaving like embryonic stem cells, making embryonic stem cells completely irrelevant.

> 5. Nominated fantastic Supreme Court justices

I can't tell which is worse, the "wise Latina" or the dyke. Wait, aren't they both dykes?

> 6. Has appriately waled a fine line supporting the
> Arab Spring

The one that is more than likely going to end up in decades of war. Good job.

> 7. Has let Israel know our support is not endless
> and unconditional

Last I heard (I believe it was last year), 4% of Israelis supported him. Not 40%. Not 14%. 4%. When Bush left office, his support in Israel was almost 70%. Good job losing the support of the only democracy in the region.

I voted for him. At the time I figured he was the best man for the job. I still like him as a person. Somewhat disappointed in some of his decisions, but still support him as our President. Would I vote for him again? Time will tell, as of today, with what the Republican's have to offer. Really tough to say.

In the 2 responses to my comments..I have stated opinions, you have stated opinions. God bless America we can still do that.

As far as empirical evideence on the value of the stimulus. You are correct that it is difficult to prove it had value. Just as you can't really prove that without it things wouldnt have been much worse. The only thing I will add, is that very educated persons like Bernanke (I know, calm down) who area of expertise is the cycle of last depression was a big supporter/proponent of it. P.S. He considers himself a Republican and was nominated by a Republican Pres. Now, on your side of the discussion. Who besides pundits and whacko kill the FRB economists do you have supporting that the stimulus did nothing or as Romney says, made things worse. So far, there have been no ill effects from the stimulus...our inflation indices are still 24 months behind their highest points (which was during a Rep Adm). Where are the high interest rates? (Oh yeah..they're coming due to the Rep party's desire to default on our debt).

You may want to point to the unemployment rate. How you'd associate those two is beyond me, but that wont stop you from just saying it.

Oh yeah, the stock market is in wonderful shape, almost back to record highs. I wonder what the Rep suicide initiative will do to that Monday morning.

The fact is Republicans are trying their damndest to destroy our economy. I hope they fail

Obviously you were not alive at the time Reagan became President and the dangerous Carter administration was history. What a breath of fresh air, it was, and I kid you not, like someone opened a window and let the fresh air in. I worked at the Pentagon at the time and was charged parking, petty annoyances like that, but in legions, that Carter and his watermelon seed spitting homeboys set up, almost without any logic but to annoy. Even today, I was watching "Hardball" and Chris Matthews, the moderator, referred to the former President as the "Great" Ronald Reagan, with all due respect as the great compromiser, the great negotiator and the great statesman. Made me feel really good. Although he also mentioned by today's standards Reagan would be listed as a Democrat in terms of his ploicies. which is a crock of shit!!!

You are correct that it's impossible to conclude either that the stimulus either helped or hurt the economy, which is why it's such bullshit for Obama supporters to continue to state as though fact that the stimulus saved us from another Great Depression. One thing that can be stated is that the economy is demonstrably worse now than it was when Obama took office. Whether or how the stimulus played a role in this fact is difficult to say, but it is not difficult to say that Obama has not been the answer to American's economic problems. And if you can't understand why one would point to the unemployment rate as an indicator that the stimulus has been ineffective, if not actually harmful, then you're beyond help. The ideas was the stimulate the economy, largely in an effort to create jobs. Does the term "shovel ready" mean anything to you? Of course, I can understand why Obama apologists such as you would rather forget that that expression was ever uttered.

I hope you can explain to me how two major knocks against the Repulicans can coexist?

Either they want to destroy the economy or they want the rich to get richer. They can't have both. So which is it?

Let's see - the "Great Conservative" more than doubled the national debt in his time in office. I.E. you add up all the deficits for all the prior Presidents and the Reagan deficit was way greater. Of course you worship him. You are defense related. Taxpayer dollars were shoveled at the Military Industrial Complex. Supply side economics: Raise Defense Spending, Cut Taxes for the rich and you get a balanced budget. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You do realize that all bills for raising revenue must originate in the House of Representatives, and that the Democrats controlled that house, not only throughout Reagan's entire term of office, but from 1954 to 1994, right?

A lot of jews agree with Obama. Our limitless support of Israel has only made them arrogant and unwilling to settle for any peace agreement. Like the Republicans in this country, they cannot come to "yes".

Yeah, makes me wonder why Boner keeps asking to see Obama's budget plan. The fact is the threat of an executive veto provides the President a very powerful say in the budget. Only through intentional ignorance can one not see that Presidents usually get the budget they want.

Do you not realize that:

Reagan promised a balanced budget.

The party of NO promised Clintons rollback of Reagan tax cuts for the rich would cause not a recession but a depression.

Bush promised the reinstitution of Reagon tax cuts would lead to balanced budget. Of course we had budget surpluses when he stated that.

The party of NO current economic policy is cut more taxes for the rich and it will lead to a balanced budget.

P.S. The Senate controls what laws are passed - Not the douches in the House.

Ironic how the "Conservatives" want to roll back time to the 50's where women stayed at home raising the kids. While men (white) worked. Gee the top tax rate then was 70%. Ahh the good old days!!

I'm sorry, I don't talk with people that use slogans. If you want to have an intellectual debate, you'll have to be more intellectual.

Yes, he got it wrong - it's not a slogan, but a name.

As such, it should be "The Party of No".

The rich want to destroy the economy. They get the bailouts. They just did it again this week. They got the ECB to commit to prop up their assets.

The rich don't want to destroy the economy. The lower-class don't want to destroy the economy either. People are selfish by nature and will vote for what benefits THEMSELVES the most. Rich people want to get richer and poor people want "robin hood" government handouts. This will never change. Rich people AND poor people are all selfish in one way or another.

Bullshit. Obama is a two-faced prick and so is McCain.

Obama never said he would get us out of Afghanistan. He said Iraq was the wrong war, and that we took our eye off the real war, Afghanistan. If from that you deciphered he was going to get us out of Afghanistan I cant help you.

That being said, we do need to get out of Afghanistan and Iraq. There are people within the Pentagon that openly say that they hope Iraq asks us to keep combat troops there beyond the SOFA. This willin my opinion be a disaster for Obama and this country. If that happens the only candidate with any hope of withdrawing out of Iraq will be Ron Paul. If that happens I will switch my support from Obama to Ron Paul for as long as Ron Raul is in the race. My support will not transfer to any other Republican.

The way to use the government to acquire more wealth is to manufacture crises because the public is panicked by the threat of pensions being cut off and being laid off. The truly wealthy aren't heavily in debt and overleveraged. They can ride it out while lobbying the government for more handouts. The government is essentially under their thumb.

So which one of the republican candidates are you supporting?

"Any of them" is not an acceptable answer,,,

Right now I'm with RON PAUL,,,see how easy that was

But, Obama's gonna win the election easily

I don't believe that at all. But I also don't think Ron Paul has a chance in hell of winning, even though he would probably be the best one out of all the candidates.

I voted for Obama, I support his Presidency and will vote for him in the coming election.

I would like to get past the political divide these days, and am open to a third party. The Republicans just haven't put out any legitimate leadership that provides a nuanced interpretation of the problems that face our nation. Until they do, I'll vote Obama.

Obama will win easily next year. Already 48% of Americans pay no income taxes, they sure as hell dont want to upset that apple cart. Those that dont work nor ever care to work will certainly vote for him as everyone knows Dems give out the best in welfare bennies. Blacks as a majority will vote for him, say what you want it is a get back at whitey vote. Lastly you have liberals who will vote for him simply because there is a D next to his name plus the added bonus of erasing white guilt.
