Since when does something that reads like a short fiction story in a blog by someone who just watched that stupid "Traveling Pants" movie make front page news?

When I read it this morning I was waiting for a smidgen of explanation like "School field trip" or something.

But, in any case, "feel good" "articles" are on lots of the sites (like CNN, or example).

It's not fiction.

She's an anecdote columnist.

Maybe there's a better word for it, but I can't think of it.

Jack Smith wrote columns like that for 30 years for the LA Times. Little anecdotes about his life. Jimmy Breslin wrote a lot of columns like that for various New York papers.

No comment on the quality. But that's the genre she's writing in.
