The kids went down to the creek today to go look for crawfish, and they came back with fish!

Anyone know what type this is? Sorry for the shitty quality. It is about 2.5 inches in length with a clear dark grey/black strip down the middle. It is currently hanging out with about 6 of its friends in my freshwater tank.

Get a peach basket, secure some bait, dead frog works best, to bottom, place in stream on it's side, with bait submerged, bottom is now standing horizontal, make this your approach point. Leave in water a few hours, return and quickly pull basket upright. Bait will be covered with crayfish or turtles.

you'd be surprised, I've seen them in reflecting pools, little ponds, any body of water that is not stagnant like a stream.
