US to release oil from Strategic Petroleum Reserve, share with other countries?

I cant figure out why the US would only get about half of the barrels from our own stockpile. Why are we joined with other countries on this?

I don't know. I'm just glad he did it. Burn the fucking speculators! That's what Clinton did, and we had $1.00 a gallon gas under him.

Most of libya's oil goes to Europe so I makes sense for them.

I believe we're releasing 30 million barrels from our Strategic Petroleum Reserve in a coordinated effort with the International Energy Agency to release a total of 60 million barrels from international reserves. It's not like we're releasing 60 million of our own and only keeping 30.
