Don't forget Cameron Diaz...

I don't think these genres need to completely die (except for buddy cop flicks, they can go), but they should all at least take a long break.

I'm pretty sick of the comic book movie era and remakes of bad 80's and 90s cartoons.

Remakes in general need to go. I guess studios don't want to take a chance on an original idea when these movies cost so much money.

Hollywood is the "House of already thought of ideas"

I personally like the found footage/shaky camera movies, but they seem to be disliked by a lot of people. Movies like Cloverfield, Quarantine, and the Last Exorcism.

I wish the 3D trend would go away, whether it be real 3D or digital 3D.

I think the only group that should be allowed to make computer-animated movies is Pixar. Everything else is a weak immitation.

90% of Hollywood is out of original ideas. Occasionally you'll get something original that's decent like Pulp Fiction, 300, or The Hangover, but for the most part it's sequels, comic/book adaptations, remakes, tv show remakes, and drivel.

If the mother ship doesn't return for Michael Moore in 2012 and take him home leaving us all to die without his glowing presence.......I'm gonna go with documentaries that contain no documented facts.

I also wish they'd end this Pirates of the Carribean franchise. I've only seen parts of them, and they're horrible. I think a historical fiction movie about real pirates would be pretty cool- a bunch of thugs sailing around stealing shit and eluding capture. Real pirates weren't getting into choreographed sword fights with weird sea creatures. It's really lame.

I agree with SoylentGreen no more fictional documentaries and Bromances they also have to go.

You could add Hugh Grant to that list.

i know this is a little off the beaten path of this thread, but another thing that bugs me about the movies is the ability of normal people to do superhuman things and not only survive, but to be unscathed. If you've seen the movie Salt with Angelina Jolie, you'll know what I mean. It's bullcrap.

You simply cannot get rid of zombie movies. Period.

Too many people worship zombies. For now, we're stuck with them.

Salt was just The Bourne Identity with a female hero.

You mean I can't use a ballpoint pen to stab an intruder to death?

Wishful thinking Bud. Vampire/Zombie movies will never die. The public is just too thrilled by this subject. One of the first features were movies of this nature, in the silent realm. And every generation creates a new set of fans, it is embedded in the psyche, movies and stories of a horrifc nature have thrilled listeners since fire was discovered and stories told around the campfire. However, your most likely right about the "buddy and romantic sickening sweet junk".

I would have liked to have seen a movie in one of those old theatre's where they "shocked" you with electricity during scary scenes. Sounds painful, but might be cool during a scary movie.

Oh you can. I can't tell you how I know, but you can.

Has the Asian horror movie remakes faded into oblivian? I remember for a while studios were Americanizing a bunch of Korean and Japanese horror movies.

I wish movies would stop doing this:

Taking everything I loved as a kid and fucking it up. Godzilla, King Kong, GI Joe, Transformers, Dukes of Hazzard, etc. etc. I'm sure there's a Thundercats or CHiPs movie in the works that will further rape my childhood memories.

I wasn't really into them, but a younger sibling of mine was. That movie looks dumb as fuck. It'll be like Garfield.
