Worried about sending my son to private school
Posted by: World Bank Electrical Engineer ()

Hello all. Long story short, I want the best education and opportunities for my son that is available in Northern Virginia. I want to send my son to a private school here in Mclean, but I'm concerned that he won't fit in and will be ostracized. I am under the impression that private schools are very white and elitist, and will not take kindly to the fact my son is Hispanic and is an ESL speaker. Should I just let him go to public school instead where he will be around other Hispanics?

You could send him to Catholic schools. There are plenty of hispanics there.

Our family is made of Deists, not Catholics. My son wouldn't fit in a Catholic school by any means.

They take non-Catholics there as well. I know a Jewish family that sends their kids to Catholic school.

Same here. I know a few Jewish families who have sent their kids to Catholic High Schools. Pay the tuition and your welcomed, it's a little different then years ago.

I didn't know homeless mexicans could afford private schooling. WTF is up with that? BTW, if you move to manassas and plead your case as an uneducated illegal mexican from chupaloopa, they'll send your kids to one of the catholic schools in PWC, for FREE. You'll also be able to get FREE rent and FREE food from the churches as well. Isn't that so nice? The dumb ass white catholics taking care of the poor mexicans.

What is wrong with Fairfax schools? According to their PR they are the best school system in the nation. At least that is what they say every year they come back demanding more money.

Fairfax schools are great but I would choose private schools though. They are much safer and your kids can get a better learning advantage than anywhere else. They were my top choice.

Yes Dr. Dale says people come here for the schools, not the $300,000 a year jobs with the world bank. My last one graduated last month, thank God, what a circus act the high schools in Fairfax have become. ESL and classes for the disabled have succeeded in leaving the average ,just trying to get to college students in the dust. No wonder the rest of the world will be studing what happened to the U.S. for centuries to come
